As a long suffering North Side White Sox fan...to say this is rarified air is an understatement.
I'm sure Cub fans would concur...we'd trade in the NBA finals and Super Bowl trophies for one World Series win.
Beating the Red Sox has never been easy...I have decades of nightmares starting with Yaz and Rico Petrocelli to Freddy Lynn and Jim Rice to Pedro and Luis Tiant. Next to the Yankees, there's no tougher team to beat...especially at home...than the Red Sox.
Cheers to all...and welcome aboard...from a still dazed White Sox fan.
Your WS drought has lasted longer than my beloved Red Sox. If the ChiSox make it to the dance, I'll be rooting for them. (The sweep will sting for a while but I'll get over it.)
I like the way they play. They're aggressive. They'll steal a base or two. Sound pitching. Won't beat themselves with errors. Fundamentally sound. They'll be tough to beat.
