Southern Miss wins Hawaii Bowl 24-17

HONOLULU — It was by no means pretty, but the Southern Miss football team capped arguably the greatest season in program history with a bowl victory.

USM quarterback Austin Davis threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Kelvin Bolden with 5:48 remaining for the deciding score in a 24-17 win over Nevada Saturday in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl at Aloha Stadium.

Southern Miss ends the campaign 12-2, smashing the previous USM mark for wins in a season of 10.
