NFL football on Thursday is a turkey of an idea
Ron Kroichick / San Francisco Chronicle, 11-24-11

Today's appetizing parade of NFL games begins with breakfast (Packers-Lions at 9:30 a.m.), carries through lunch (Dolphins-Cowboys at 1:15 p.m.) and culminates with a Thanksgiving dinner feast (49ers-Ravens at 5:20 p.m.).

That's great entertainment for fans, but if league officials truly cared about player safety - and they clearly don't - they would not schedule any games on Thursdays.

SNIP

All this talk about the NFL's enhanced efforts to monitor and treat concussions rings hollow when teams repeatedly are forced to play on Sunday and again on Thursday. There are nine games scheduled on Thursdays this year, including today's tripleheader.

"I don't know that the body can really do that," former Raiders coach John Madden said recently on KCBS. "I'm against Thursday football. I don't think two or three days is enough to heal up.

2. My more immediate concern..
is that the 49ers are the first team to travel 3 time zones to play a Thursday game since the NFL went to the 16 game schedule in 1978.

3. It's a conspiracy
Because, you see, the world revolves around your 49ers and the league is doing everything possible to derail them.

There, how's that?

San Francisco "69ers", indeed. And everything out of his piehole does NOT have to do with the Niners; observe the Giants avvie to the left. :-) Don't stoop to his level.

edit: There is at least one gay Niners bar, Uncle Bert's in the Castro. And another stereotype bites the dust.

9. What?????
69ing is heterosexual too. Matter of fact, when I was young that's all it meant.

Your attack is totally uncalled for. Just like many of your posts of late.

4. They should coordinate bye weeks with Thursday games
Every team that plays on Thursday should be off the previous (and obviously, next) Sunday. As it is there are 17 weeks in the season and 32 teams, so they could have up to 16 Thursday games under this kind of system.

The Thursday football would be better, too... each team would have more than just a few days to heal and prepare.
