Players In The NBA Are Making A Mistake
This is a really bad idea. The NBA isn't the NFL. This may be unrecoverable situation and they have really messed this up.

Now before anybody accuses me of taking the side of "the man", my dad was a Teamster. I have no issues with unions in any way, shape or form. Although i do admit i don't consider guys who individually negotiate their own contracts to be a union. That's just me.

But, the league will end up having to contract over this, and they're going to lose membership and COST MEMBERS JOBS! This doesn't make sense. The three teams who lose the most money can only GAIN by not having a season. If you are bringing in $120 millipon and paying $150 million, it's cheaper to do nothing.

This is really simple microeconomics, and i think the players have grossly overplayed their hand.

Again, THIS DOESN'T MEAN I SIDE WITH THE OWNERS! It means i think this is a really bad decision by the players.

In this economy, nobody is going to be all that sympathetic to "union" members, where the 12th man on the 30th best team in the league made $284k last year.

It just won't work. They won't get fan support. This is going to blow up on them.

Bad, bad idea.

1. Won't players just migrate to the European leagues?? Unlike in football
there is no comparable league to migrate to? The NBA players won't make the same amount, but it will be income.

2. You're Kidding, Right?
Half of the teams in the Euro leagues are defaulting on contracts. That's why a lot of the big names that were "supposed to" go there during the lockout, didn't. There are teams there that don't have a pot to piss in.

Teams in the Balkans, Italy, and Greece don't know if their countries credit is good, by Thursday.

There is NO POTENTIAL in Europe. And, the game isn't big enough in Asia to matter.

If a guy willing to make sixty grand a year instead of 8 million, ok. But, that's not going to happen. They spend more on that on gas money.
