5. 'Candles, not police lights, have lit Penn State's campus
as thousands of students and supporters gather for the victims in a child sex abuse scandal roiling one of the nation's largest universities.

Friday night's vigil was organized by students in the wake of a shocking grand jury report.'

6. I am glad it evolved from blind support of the program as
well as the coach. The original rioting was not a good sign.

7. Right, but I don't think it was ever 'blind' support for either;
lots of emotions and ambiguity involved, but these are NOT stupid 'kids,' after all.

8. They were not smart enough to avoid riot and burning
someones property. Sorry but it looked real bad on the national press.
Sorry affair.

9. Sure, 'national press' does a good job highlighting riots and burning;
thoughtful demonstrations, not so much.

10. I am disgusted with Penn State if the Bugtussel Press
was reporting on them. A riot in support of those that would rather protect the program than bust (oh, that's right he was busted) & prosecute pedophiles caught in the act of anal rape.
As the father of two boys I may be extra vehement in my rage over this outrage.

2. My wife's alma mater is Marist. She remembers Rik Smits around the campus.
He was kind of hard to miss, though!

4. Kentucky rolls by 50, 108-58
Beat last two opponents by 135 points total. Hard job at the scorer's table.

15. Shooting victim Parrom returns to boost Arizona
http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=313170012

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A stifling defense lifted No. 16 Arizona past
Ball State 73-63 on Sunday. The emotional return of the Wildcats'
Kevin Parrom overshadowed it all.

Parrom, playing seven weeks after he was shot in the right leg and left
hand while visiting his family in New York City and less than a month
after the death of his mother, played 18 minutes. The ever-hustling junior,
whose participation was a game-time decision, sank a crucial 3-pointer,
took a charge, grabbed four rebounds and had a steal.

He received a standing ovation from the loud, capacity McKale Center crowd
when he entered the game and when he left in the fourth quarter.

"It felt good. It's an amazing feeling," he said. "I didn't know how good
I was going to play. I just wanted to contribute and grab a rebound or two and just play hard."

Bear Down!

1997:
Arizona, coached by Lute Olson, won the national title with a 84-79 overtime victory
in the final game over defending champion Kentucky, coached by Rick Pitino.
Miles Simon of Arizona was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

16. You guys won that hard fought game fair and square..but
our best player and one of my favorite all time UK players, Derek Anderson was out injured and made an appearance only to shoot technicals. With him we would have had a 3peat. Not whining, much, it was just sad his senior season was ruined.
Maybe we will play again, we will be on the t.v. @ 9:00pm Tuesday in the Garden vs Kansas. Maybe we are real good, we should have a hint during a game with real competition. In a closed practice today Kidd- Gilchrist hit 16 straight in a 3 point shoot around. We may go back to a trap zone Adolph perfected , the 1-3-1 Zone Trap. Coach Cal never zones so this is a heads up. Good luck
