1. Shorn of all the political stuff, the actual baseball so far has been outstanding.
Kind of like a NASCAR race with a couple of lead changes in the last ten laps.

It was, however, satisfying to see Pukehole's boner move the eventual game-winner to second.

5. I can't believe I dozed off during the 9th!
:grr:

I was good watching the game on the couch, but I guess right around the middle of the 8th, I frickin' dozed off and didn't wake up until the last batter in the bottom of the 9th.

See, that's why pitchers' duels are so great, you blink or even doze off for a second, and you may miss the one offensive outburst of the night. :banghead:

9. See. AL teams can and SHOULD play without the bastardization of the game called
the designated hitter rule.

8. It's actually a very good series...
Too bad both right-wing-assiociated teams deserve to lose...why don't we have it tied 3-3 and then cancel baseball forever so we can enjoy the good play on the field but it stops the right-wing tools from being happy!

12. Huh?
I thought the Pirates were playing the Orioles.

....

Besides, it's almost as fun to watch everyone here hyperventilate when a Dallas team wins a championship!!

And it ain't even Dallas County. It's Tarrant County.

But it's all Texas!

17. Is that the new fantasy series . . .
. . . taking over for Cubs-Red Sox . . . (that one lost its meaning in 2004).

16. Weird managing by LaRussa..
First off, the effort made by Pujols on the cutoff throw was pathetic. In that situation, your primary assignment is to do whatever possible to keep the potential winning run from moving into scoring position. I guess he doesn't want to stay with the Cardinals after all.

The Rangers had second and third with no outs. Why not leave Motte in?...Arthur Rhodes must be going on 50. I remember back in 2001, when with the Mariners, he gave up a big 8th inning tying HR in game 4 of the ALCS...a game the Mariners eventually lost. He's not the guy I'd want in there with the game on the line. Anyway, LaRussa should have intentionally walked Hamilton to load the bases, setting up a force at home and a possible DP, with three consecutive RH hitters coming up to face Motte... Makes sense to me..
