********COLLEGE FOOTBALL: WEEK 8 ********
Halfway through, Occupiers. Trying to recall the last two years of this and I don't remember everyone doing this well. In fact, I believe the leader, maybe, 12-15 games over .500, at this point, but 23 games over?!? Incredible. Could be the fact that the parity in college football is gone. About eight teams have separated themselves from the pack and it's a huge gulf between them. We may have 5 undefeated teams when all is said and done but really three stand alone. It's fucking obvious who they are. Shit. How much would a Plus One matter this year? A fucking ton.
A 'standing o' to era and a la. 13-2 and 12-3, respectively. The combined record of everyone playing was 127-83. Shit. That sounds like a North Carolina - Kentucky B-ball final. Okay. This week. The action commences Thursday night with a game that features a coach who has already been fired and one that's about to be. So before kickoff. Standings to follow.

Thursday, October 20
UCLA +4 @ Arizona

Friday, October 21
Rutgers -1.5 @ Louisville

Saturday, October 22
Oklahoma State -6 @ Missouri
North Carolina +9.5 @ Clemson
Arkansas -15.5 @ Mississippi
Georgia Tech +3 @ Miami (Fla)
Air Force +29 @ Boise State
Auburn +22 @ LSU
Penn State -4.5 @ Northwestern
Tennessee +28 @ Alabama
USC +7.5 @ Notre Dame
Washington +20 @ Stanford
Wisconsin -7.5 @ Michigan State
SMU +3 @ Southern Mississippi
Texas Tech +25 @ Oklahoma

And as always. Best of fuckin' luck.

4. happy and I were at the GA, era...
..and it lasted two minutes. Seems the City and OIC are in discussions on how long this thing is going to last. So some of the powers (wait- no leaders!) hustled off to the City Council meeting to explain their case. Todays's high is in the upper 40's with wind and rain. The tough times are not far away.

24. I grew up in Monmouth County, about...
10 minutes from Sandy Hook, NJ. I used to go to New Hope with my mom all the time. I graduated from Rutgers in '99...when they sucked royally in football.

The glory of being in Ohio now is that I don't have to fly home to visit the family. A nice (expensive) drive down the PA TPK and I'm home in a day.

Going to school in Ohio made it the mother road. Of course, that was the late seventies. Speed Limit: 55 MPH.

28. I almost went to University of Dayton, but i chose Ohio Northern instead.
Better Engineering school. Finished in 1983. Worked in NYC, CT and DC, and lived in CT and MD. I spent 20 years in CT and never really became a UConn fan. Always been an Ohio State fan (ONU, too!). I think I still have a biography of Woody Hayes written in 1973!

Shit, the amount of time I'm spending in San Antone, one would think I might become a Rangers and Cowboys fan!!

:D
