The Open Is Over!
Yeah, i'm not exactly going out on a limb when the guy has a 9 shot lead, but when Rory made that birdie on the 1st hole, that meant there was going to be no 80 today. He wins! End of story.

1. and the TV's click off
The USGA and NBC can not be happy with the "John Deere" open scores. The course was too easy even though McIlroy has been great.

3. We Agree
Thing is, they have been telling the Jemcek's (owners of Dubsdread) that the course was not going to get an open because they couldn't make the track as tough as an open should be.

Well, i hope this proves they might not want to send it back to Congressional either.

Geez, we see 7 and 8 and 12 under par scores every week. There should be one tournament where the guys struggle to break par.

I heard that something like 23 or 24 guys finished under par. That number is usually something more like 2 to 5.

I know the rain softened things, but geez.

4. There was no punishment
for hitting it into the rough. I like it when it is close to impossible to hit it out. The pro's are whiners. Do you remember when the cried the time the sand was to fluffy and then the PGA changed the sand? Like I said in my previous post when you hit it into a pot bunker in the British open you lose a stroke. On this course you lost nothing- no penalty. This happened because the players whined that they couldn't hit it out of the rough and the USGA acquiesced to their demands. Pathetic

5. We Agree, Again
I love it when there is a punishment for hitting it crooked, even if it's 350 yards.

That course was a long muni.

President Obama. He is a huge admirer. I hope the White House is aware of this.
