1. I think pitching is Pittsburgh's biggest need

I think they have some nice offensive players.

2. Pittsburgh's biggest need might be someone to make draft decisions.

Or at least someone better to develop talent. To consistently have such a high pick and to have THIS as your list of draftees that made it to the pros in the last 8 years is not good.

I'm not 100% sure this is completely accurate, but if they were really drafting dozens of players each year and this is all that made it to the pros, especially for a team that can afford to give young talent a shot, then THAT is the problem.

For almost no other team do you have to go all the way back to 2003 to find the last ten MLBers.
