Now that was a strange play
Darwin Barney of the Cubs hit a routine flyball to right field and Soriano goes nowhere from third base. Jeff Baker, the runner at second base just runs and ends up at third too. He takes off back toward second and the catcher for the Red Sox throws the ball to the third baseman, who didn't catch the ball. Soriano then scores as does Baker becaue the return throw to the plate sucked and neither man at the plate could decide who should catch the ball. So in brief, the Cubs scored two runs on a play that should have ended the inning because of a stupid baserunning mistake by the Cubs.
This is why baseball rules. Weird stuff happens. And the Cubs are winning 8-3 so that's even better.
