What The Fuck, Buck?
Orioles manager Showalter rips Epstein

The season hasn't even started yet and tempers are flaring in the American League East. But it's not between the Red Sox and Yankees.

Baltimore manager Buck Showalter had this to say to Men's Journal magazine:

"I’d like to see how smart Theo Epstein is with the Tampa Bay payroll. You got Carl Crawford ’cause you paid more than anyone else, and that’s what makes you smarter? That’s why I like whipping their butt. It’s great, knowing those guys with the $205 million payroll are saying, ‘How the hell are they beating us?’ ”
Epstein has not yet issued a response.

Meanwhile, didn't Showalter once manage the well-funded Yankees? Or the Diamondbacks in 2000 when they had what was then a healthy payroll of $77 million?

When was the last time Buck whipped Boston's butt, anyways?

1. Buck was the best manager the Yankees had in 50 years
I'd take him back in a nano-second.

5. I just remember how when the Red Sox signed Crawford their fans were all over
sports message boards proclaiming "Championship!" Now it looks like that money would have been better spent on pitching.

6. I never saw a team celebrate the end to a miserable season like that before.
The Orioles looked like douches at the end of the game.

I guess knocking the Sox out was their shining moment. Everybody plays for something...:eyes:

7. sore loser much?
If I were Buck, I absolutely would've told my team to play the Red Sox as if they were fighting for that same wild card spot. How do you think the Rays would feel knowing the O's just rolled over while they had to fight their asses off?

That was a great come from behind win with two outs in the bottom of the 9th on the last day of the season, of course they're going to celebrate that.

9. How am I a sore loser?
I don't see it from what I said. I just called them out on their boorish behavior after the game. A sore loser would make up excuses or accuse the other team of cheating.

But then again, Buck and his crew probably were overcome with emotion, after winning their first meaningful game of the season (not meaningful to them, of course) since Opening Day.

Congratulations Baltimore Orioles on your fifth straight season with less than seventy wins! Party like rock stars!

13. I guess
I would feel bad celebrating over nothing AND ruining the Red Sox season at the same time. But I'm a Yankee fan, so I wouldn't feel that bad. :D
