Brett Favre's Legacy is Not Tarnished
I read what that sententious idiot Kurt Warner said yesterday, and I had to write an article about it - mainly because so many people agree with him.

1. I'm from Wisconsin and I believe that Favre's legacy is tarnished,
and he did it to himself. Not only Favre, but many other Packers over the years have got away with doing a lot of crap here simply because they are Packers and it is hushed up and overlooked.

2. The point I try to make is
None of that crap should matter as it pertains to his legacy.

6. In this day and age, right or wrong, you cannot separate the two.
Tiger Woods' legacy, how people view him altogether as a person, is diminished as well. You cannot make people accept a definition of "legacy" that they do not believe.

7. I'm not trying to force it upon people.
I'm just one of those idiots that recognizes a public figure, namely athletes, for what they do on the field. The rest is a bunch of media BS that I avert my attention from. Are many of them arrogant, overpaid assholes? Sure, but I try to ignore that. On top of that, their PERSONAL lives are their business.

3. Like I said before, Favre is typical of many sports "heroes".
He thinks he can get away with anything because that is what he was taught starting in grade school. Because he's an athlete, most if not all of his transgressions are forgiven. I don't know if this country will ever wake up to this stupidity and hypocrisy.

4. And by the way, shame on you.
Sexual harassment is a serious crime. Blaming the victim, as you do, is disgusting and immoral. Ten million bucks says you're a man and have no idea what women go through every day.

5. Assuming that she's telling the truth like the MSM
is illogical and idiotic. I'm trying to see the other side, and when you get right down to it, Favre is rich and an easy media target.

I thought editorials and articles were allowed in "editorials and articles."

9. Brett Favor is the best quarterback ever??
Edited on Wed Jan-05-11 01:10 PM by madinmaryland
:wtf:

What had "thesop" been smoking? Yes, he has some very impressive numbers, except for the one that actually counts.

11. There are several QB's that have multiple rings. I personnally would take one
of those QB's over Favor any day.

12. So SB Rings are all that matter, eh?
I guess Dan Marino is looking pretty sucky then.

16. Roethlistberger has 2 rings
and what he did is worse than Favre, would you take him?

I agree with your general point, though, I'd take Brady, Elway, Montana or Aikman over Favre any day of the week.

17. I'd take any of the four you listed, plus..
Terry Bradshaw or Dan Marino (even though he doesn't have a ring, he's not a douchebag like Favor).

20. If Marino Played On A Team With A Defense. . .
. . .he would have had a very legitimate shot at multiple rings. But, the times had passed Shula by, and he could no longer develop and scheme a defense that would work against the offenses of the 80's.

Marino is in my top three all time, rings or not.

22. His lack of a quality running game didn't help much either.
I think he only had 1 back run for 1000 yards, but given the defensive issues, they had to pass more often as well.

18. The last 10 years of Favre's career are quite a bit worse than the first 10 years
That is especially true for the post season where he has a history of throwing game killing interceptions. But he has had good PR and that has helped his legacy.

26. Favre's legacy is tarnished, but Warner has no legacy whatsoever.
God did it all for Warner, after all.
