1. Meh.
After today I'm convinced that TCU is at best the fifth or sixth best team in the Country. Auburn, Oregon, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan State are all better and more deserving than TCU. Sorry but the Big Ten Co- Champs all played real opponents- not tomato cans.

In a crap conference, and UNM beat how many teams this year?

1.

One team.

BTW, UNM lost to Oregon 72-0. So the Ducks beat them by 23 more points than TCU.

Hmmmm.

4. Not their fault they had to play New Mexico
You know being locked into conference opponents. Now what is Oregon's excuse for playing New Mexico?

5. Every team plays SOME powder puff teams
Oregon has some real quality wins though....Like ummm Stanford. I think they did okay this year. TCU's quality win? Utah who got KILLED by Notre Dame and barely beat a pretty bad BYU team. Otherwise they beat NO ONE.
TCU should NOT be in the championship game.

6. Not over
Auburn AND Oregon. If one or if both teams lose than put TCU in. I just don't fault teams that are locked into conference opponents. BTW they beat BYU 31-3 and BYU is bowl eligible. I think you are referring to their close call to San Diego St. They're not a bad team, all of SDSU losses were close calls against Missouri and the top teams in their own conference.

Either way, just because a team doesn't play in one of the strongest conferences doesn't mean they aren't one of the best teams. Butler in college basketball plays in the Horizon League and they came within a shot of beating Duke. Playoffs is the only way to settle this.

7. Yes. A playoff would be best
And obviously if neither Oregon or Auburn lose it's a moot point. And even in basketball generally it's still rare to see a small conference school beat one of the Power teams.
