Cats show grit, beat Washington 74-67 in LAHAINA, Hawaii
Relentless

An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale shook Maui on Tuesday night. Or was that thump-thump-thump of my heart, darling, as Kentucky and Washington staged a classic November thriller in the EA Sports Maui Invitational.
Kentucky beat — or was it outlasted — Washington 74-67 to advance to Wednesday night's championship game against Connecticut.
Terrence Jones had 16 points and 17 rebounds, and Brandon Knight scored 24 points to help No. 8 Kentucky hold off No. 13 Washington

2. UCONN is one of the few teams with a lead in their series
1-0 RE:Kentucky vs Connecticut (03/19/06 at Wachovia Center, Philadelphia, Pa.) UCONN 87 UK 83
Will have to even it out tonight, bookies say UK by 6, I say UK by 11. Big win over MSU letdown against surging but young team.
Go Cats

3. UCONN played great game and schooled the young Cats
LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP) - Kemba Walker scored 29 points and Connecticut beat a Top 10 team for the second straight day, knocking off No. 8 Kentucky with an 84-67 rout to win the Maui Invitational on Wednesday night.
The Huskies shot 57 percent against one of the nation's best teams to leave paradise with a big trophy while UK shot a piss poor 36%. I hate seeing the rout word used. A lot more games 'till March.
