Childress out in Minnesota
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/11/22/vikings-fire-brad-childress/

Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress has been fired.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports is first reported, and the Vikings have confirmed, that Childress has been fired.

This morning the Vikings announced that Childress would meet the press for his regularly scheduled weekly press conference, which some assumed meant he was safe for at least another week.

But that assumption was incorrect: Childress is out.

2. I feel bad for him...he was never in charge...taking the blame for the de-facto coach,
Favor.

16. Maybe he was fired for not wearing his seatbelt.
:)

(That's some pretty crappy photoshop job there.)

13. I don't think Childress was ever a good coach.
The dysfunction of this team has been hidden for many years.

I live in Wisconsin and Childress sucked with the Badgers. All the Packer fans around here were very happy when the Vikings hired him because they knew he sucked. They should have hired Frazier when they hired Chilly. Glad Leslie gets a shot now.

7. Hate to say it, but after yesterday's 49ers performance Singletary should be next
Mike's in over his head. Trumad pointed this out week ago -- he was right.

It wouldn't be enough to can MIke -- Trent Baalke, Vice President of Player Personnel, needs to go too.

10. It's easy to spot in a coach...
believe me---after years of studying Wannstedt you can see characteristics in coaches that tell you if they'll make it or not.

Once Childress lost control of that locker room I knew he was gone.

11. We Spotted It In Wanny, Here Too
Edited on Mon Nov-22-10 03:05 PM by ProfessorGAC
He was never really in charge of the Beras. The players merely tolerated his presence. When they were good, he had nothing to do with it. And, when they weren't he wasn't capable of making a difference.

12. He took over for a pretty solid Jimmy Johnson team
and had two good regular seasons. Once it became Wanny's team--- things got bad really really fast.

15. Can I add Josh McDaniel's to that list?
Broncos come out first drive and look like world beaters.
Second drive and they fold like a cheap suit.
Sandy Eggo is going to roll all over us, and now it's 35-7 and I ask myself...
I planned my day around THIS?

Fucking Broncos.
They have given me nothing to get excited about since 1997-1998.

9. First Phillips, now Childress
The Packers have claimed another coach by their clear superiority. San Francisco rolls (staggers?) into Green Bay in two weeks. Maybe after that, Singletary will get the boot.

18. Now Favre can retire and take over the coaching duties?
And in a few weeks, a few ex-NFL coaches will feel a sense of Schadenfreude.

20. I've been following this closely
and basically he was losing the players. It is easy to blame Farve for this but pretty much the whole team didn't like Childress.
