1. McNabb's the least of their problems. BY FAR
In the end giving him the extension would probably be pretty smart, though I would have preferred 3 years max.
Personally, I think Jim Hazlett needs to be fired by the close of business today. How the bleep does one have TWO FUCKING WEEKS to prepare for an opponent and turn up completely unprepared.
Oh and Shannahan isn't much better.

2. They need new ownership

Will Snyder ever realize how incompetent he is? Will he now resume suing fans of the team? I heard Mervis wants to buy the team.

3. Took the words right out of my mouth.
Ownership is the problem.

7. I don't think that is Wilbon's point.
I don't think Wilbon is saying that McNabb is the Redskin's problem - he's saying that signing McNabb to a long and expensive contract extension is not the solution.

8. Yeah but Wilbon's commentary is like
Edited on Tue Nov-16-10 01:13 PM by TZ
someone criticizing the sound of the string quartet that plays as the Titanic is sinking. They might indeed sound bad but there are much more other things that need attention...
This column might have resonated more if the game had been competitive at any level. Or if McNabb had blown it with an INT in the end.

9. You are right, TZ.
But it's his local beat, he could hardly ignore the story. The quartet reached a crescendo, and he's a little tone deaf, to beat the metaphor into the ground.

4. I like Wilbon and and all, but the fact he doesn't mention the O-Line
as being McNabb's biggest problem shows a little lack of analysis on his part. No current QB could do crap with those 5 clowns in front of him.

5. Indeed.
With all the problems the Skins have (and at this point if they go 0-fer the rest of the season, I wouldn't be surprised) I think McNabb is way down the line after bad coaching, bad defense ,and bad offensive line.

6. McNabb no better or worse when he was an Eagle!
As an Eagle fan, for decades, clearly he is athletic and can heave the ball down field, but he is an average NFL QB. McNabb has a ho-hum attitude that bespeaks his lack of fire, his killer, winning instincts. Watch his demeaner when he comes off the field after a terrible series or a scoring drive. No passion! Reid finally came to the realization that McNabb can't lead a team to a Super Bowl, especially with Kolb and Vick on the bench. You don't send a high caliber QB to a team in your division. I like Mike Shannahan, but remember the Snyders in Philly! Snyder is a nightmare, period. The DC fans need to keep screaming to get him out of town!
