George W. Bush and the Texas Rangers
Edited on Mon Oct-25-10 06:35 AM by trumad
Bush originally owned one percent of the Rangers and after he helped steal the land for the new stadium, they bumped him up to 10 percent.

It has been a false assertion that George W. Bush "owned" the Texas Rangers. The Repubs used that in his Bio for years and it use to drive me crazy.

It was nothing more than his Dad's rich friends bailing out little W after his failed business ventures.

Now with that said--- you're about to hear over and over from the Announcers and other various talking heads that Bush was the former owner of the Rangers.

Just remember--- he owned very little.

1. I don't think he has actually owned anything, other than the people of the USA
from 2000-2008.

2. He was named Managing General Partner
which is significant considering how much equity he put in. I guess you're right, but I believe his role with the Rangers was somewhat significant except for the amount of money he put in.

4. It's not how much he owned....
It's how much that bastard Tom Hick's bought him out for. Enough to bankroll his run for Texas Governor and the associated spotlight to run for Preshnit.
