Major excitement at Camden Yards!
Yes, on the field.

No, not by a player.

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/Security-shrugs-as-O-s-mope-runs-laps-around-Cam?urn=mlb-257721

The security in Baltimore apparently has a view on crowd enforcement that's just a bit different than their Taser-happy friends up in Philadelphia. Watch as some Orioles fan runs around the field at Camden Yards on a wild Thursday night and the Baltimore police don't even display a passing interest in detaining or stopping him.

C'mon, Herc. Look alive out there!

Honestly, I've never seen anything like this before. I'm not sure if the cops just thought the kid would pass out by himself in the muggy harbor heat or if Thursdays at OPACY have been tabbed as a Hamsterdam of sorts for field trespassers, but that youngster had to set some sort of record for most time spent on the field without being tackled or even touched.

Seriously, folks, don't exert yourselves. I mean, it's not as if there's a strange guy running around million-dollar athletes with no means to protect themselves.

Must-see TV:

1. Huh. I had the game on last night, and since they don't show this on TV
to discourage it, I had no idea it was because the security wasn't even trying...I figured it was just someone fast with good atheletic ability. That is REALLY pathetic. Whoever is in charge of security there needs to be fired.

3. Only cause the Nats played during the day.
And I was rooting for my favorite AL team...The Minnesota Twins, whom I rarely see on TV here. Sorry....

6. See, I once had a good friend who moved there
and left me in the lurch. Nearly twenty years ago. :(

Does this transplanted Minnesotan of whom you speak drink Yuengling, by any chance? :-) I did not know that about her... oh well, at least she escaped. :P

10. That security detail is pathetic
If they can't even be bothered to do their job--time to retire..or be retired. I hear the cops get that detail due to seniority...so they're all 80 or something..pathetic.
