Ok, here's a thread for baseball lovers.
The Chicago White Sox have won 26 out of their last 31 games and are the hottest team in MLB. The Atlanta Braves have the best record in the National League. The San Diego Padres have (arguably) the best starting pitching staff in baseball. The Texas Rangers just acquired a fine pitcher and should be among the faves for the A.L. title.
Just sayin'.

1. Out of all that, the Yankees still have the best record in MLB
We'll see where it leads, it's only halfway.

2. What about the Reds?
The last time they led their division at the break, they were still called the "Red Stockings". :-)

3. I think they have always been the "Red Legs"
And yes, they appear to have enough pitching to win the division, especially if Volquez can come back to his previous form. There is no doubt about their offense. I must warn you though, Dusty Baker is the manager and he has a history of not exactly being a great handler of pitchers.

5. Believe it or not, there's a political back story to "Redlegs"!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cincinnati_Reds

The Cincinnati Reds are a Major League Baseball team based in Cincinnati, Ohio. They are members of the Central Division of the National League. The franchise originated in 1882 as the Cincinnati Red Stockings, using a name that dates back to baseball's first professional team in 1869. They settled on their current name by 1890, though they used the name "Redlegs" for part of the 1950s to avoid any perceived association with Communism during the McCarthy era. The franchise was a charter member of the American Association, then one of the two major leagues, and then joined the National League in 1890.
