The Yankees pay their players better than anyone in the league, and their pay scale raises wages for all "workers" (players) whether they work for the Yankees or not.

As opposed to buying cheap stuff in China, the Yankees go out an pay top dollar, and a result, their customers (Yankees fans) get a pretty consistent high-quality product.

Rather than ownership keeping the profits, most of the profits are reinvested in the employees and the business in general.

Yankees tickets are expensive.

It's a "union shop". Everyone has guaranteed contracts and health care.


And I say all this as a hardcore Red Sox fan.

This team has been slowly improving its farm system which, since unlike the Yankees they haven't destroyed by trading away for any over priced free agents...How'd Randy Johnson, Bobby Abreu, AJ Burnett work out for you guys?
