Sometimes Jesse Jackson needs to just STFU: Dan Gilbert Sees LeBron as "Runaway Slave"
Reason #1,234 why a lot of people do not take him seriously.

"LeBron James might have left the Cavs for the Heat, but suddenly there's a lot more heat back in Cleveland.

According to the Associated Press, the Rev. Jesse Jackson is upset with an open letter written by Cleveland Cavs owner Dan Gilbert after his star player decided to move to Miami. The bitter comments directed toward the free agent sound like they're directed at a "runaway slave," according to Jackson.

Gilbert's letter, addressed to his team's fans, derided James as "narcissistic" and claimed that he "deserted" Cleveland.

The AP left messages for Gilbert, the Cavaliers, James and the NBA on Sunday night for reaction to Jackson, who said the comments in the letter "personify a slave master mentality" and that Gilbert should face a "challenge" from the league."

1. Maybe you need to shut the fuck up...
Gilbert see's all his employees that way.

He currently has a class action suit against him for making his employees work 60-80 hours a week with no overtime.

His letter to LeBron was one of the most childish piece of shit things I've seen in a long long time.

Fuck Gilbert!

4. Gilbert's statement seemed more like jilted lover than slave owner to me.
Jesse Jackson sometimes does a good job bringing racial issues to light... then there's times like this.

Is it just me or does it seem like more and more of the press Jesse's been getting lately has been for saying thing he should probably apologize for?

6. Jackson doesn't know what he's talking about
time has passed him by. He's struggling hard to make himself relevant in a world that no longer cares.

And he doesn't appear to know a damn thing about sports anyway. I've seem him get involved in sports related subjects in the past and he always looks uncomfortable and out of his element..

7. I agree with you on that
He is trying to make comparisons that just don't exist in reality.

9. I don't know, he kind of has a point about Gilbert's attitude
GMs and owners lose out on free agents all the time. I can't recall the last time one of them had such a hissy fit about it. Plus, don't they get a couple first-round picks next draft?

10. His franchise lost over half its value overnight.
Why WOULDN'T he be pissed. Bear in mind that Jesse Jackson is the same person who called NY "hymietown" so for a racist to call another person's behavior racist is totally disgusting. I don't think he is but if Gilbert is Jewish, that would make his comment very interesting.

Is so classy TRUMAD. But I forgot, LeBron is above criticism since he came to Miami and of course since he's black he can't be criticized. You want to justify hymietown jerk? Oh and not all rich people are evil. I have a problem with bigotry - to quote Creekdog- "anytime I hear the term corporatist I know stupidity is sure to follow". Didn't realize that Creekdog knew you when he posted that. And since when isn't LeBron a corporatist? Shoe companies aren't corporations? Did you know that LeBron's ambition is to make himself the most marketed athelete in the world? Yeah. Corporate sell out isn't just for owners anymore
