The LeBron James Surreality Show
<snip>

"This just in: LeBron James is leaning toward Miami.

O.K., so we don’t really know if he is actually leaning toward signing with Miami, or has simply shifted in his chair. He could have been angling for a better view of the television to gaze lovingly at a commercial for his upcoming 60-minute ego-a-thon on ESPN Thursday night. But he is definitely leaning toward Miami. Really, ESPN says so, and ESPN runs the sports universe, doesn’t it?

But wait, was that a glance west, back toward Cleveland? Or was he craning his neck toward Manhattan skyscrapers? If he drank tea, maybe we could divine something from the leaves!

Welcome to the world of sports, um, journalism today: the science of the LeBron Watch, the kind of science that makes astrology look Einstein-ian by comparison."

2. At first I was wondering how they were going to fill an hour for a one word decision,
I thought they might do a bunch of background crap, and then with a minute or two to go, he'd announce the city. They I figured how they could get great ratings... have James announce Miami (or Chicago) in the first minute and spend the next 59 minutes showing the reaction of the people of Cleveland. Now that might be worth watching.

3. I kept telling all of you
a few years ago, when the Cavs were playing the Pistons in the playoffs, I turned on the pregame show at the hotel I was in, and the pregame consisted of LeBron James FINGERNAILS and how he bit them before games.

Hey, I've bitten my nails for years. Where's my pregame show?

Or another time, he had roses put on seats where his mother and baby mamma were going to sit for Mother's Day, and the media was all over that, too. Whoo hoo, what a guy.
