4. That's two straight bad starts..
chief problem seems to be a loss of control...something Tim has virtually never had a problem with. The speculation as to what's wrong has already started:

Bruce Bochy refuted a pregame TV report that Lincecum had a blister on his pitching hand, but as I wrote in my game story, this might be a matter of semantics.

Back in spring training, Lincecum had a cracked nail on the middle finger of his pitching hand. He even let me snap a picture of it and send it as a joke to a college buddy of mine, who was thinking of drafting Lincecum on his fantasy team. (Note to geeks, and you know who you are: This is not a public service I provide at large.)

At the time, the nail problem wasn’t serious and didn’t look too ugly. But perhaps Lincecum is dealing with the cracked nail issue again. I can’t tell you for sure, because Lincecum had both hands very conspicuously buried in the pockets of his sweatshirt while he conducted his postgame interview.

6. Lincecum:
"I've told you guys time and time again, it's about rhythm and timing. Obviously this was another game without it, and it kind of hurt. Falling behind guys, guys running all over me, walking guys, that doesn't really help my cause."

7. It's his mechanics..
though Lincecum doesn't depend upon velocity anyway. His dad taught him the unique delivery he has and from time to time he gets out of whack. Up until these last two starts he was throwing like the normal Tim...he'll get it straightened out.

8. Meanwhile, it will be Timmy vs. Ubaldo-No-No on Monday at AT&T Park.
Ubaldo now has the best record in the majors at 9-1 and a 0.88 ERA. It will be too bad if Little Timmy has lost his stuff.
