Reports: Yzerman to be Tampa GM

According to numerous reports, Steve Yzerman will be named the new general manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning at a 3 p.m. ET news conference Tuesday.

CBC's Elliotte Friedman and Rogers Sportsnet's Nick Kyperos both reported the Hall of Fame center and current Red Wings executive will be taking the job.

3. Be interesting to see how he does.

He was one of the best players I ever had the pleasure of watching. That doesn't always carry over to the front office though. And I'm not sure if Floridians in general will ever really care much about hockey though. They had Stanley Cup winner 4 years ago and hardly anyone noticed.
