Dwight Howard- What a series
Edited on Tue Apr-27-10 12:48 PM by wilt the stilt
Totally dominating. Man, he scored 5 points in the first game and exceeded that number by scoring 6 points in the final. That is dominance. Did anyone see that hook shot in the 3rd game from the left side of the key? It was a thing of beauty. It almost hit the rim.

1. The Magic Have The Potential To Be The Best Team In The NBA
They just don't always play like it though. There's a certain amount of immaturity on that team.

2. Stan Van Gundy
went to my alma mater- SUNY Brockport. Where we played basketball morning noon and night when we weren't in class. We had one of the greatest intramural basketball programs. we had 64 team, dual season program with 20% of the boys participating. many of the players were high school players. PE was a big major at the school at the time. We often played against the actual varsity in pick up games.

Orlando can be good but like you said immature. Dwight Howard should have gone to college. He reminds of another player who never developed entirely. Darryl Dawkins.

3. He's A Very Underrated Coach
Without him, people would be calling Howard a bust.

4. Foul trouble
He's been in foul trouble the entire series. Regardless he never struck me as an offensive dominating force. Look at the blocking and rebounding numbers, those are pretty good.

5. Agreed- Did you see the first foul
Edited on Tue Apr-27-10 02:34 PM by wilt the stilt
he pushed the guy on a hook. Really terrible foul as was some of the others. He is at this point just not an elite player as much as the NBA marketing people push him to be one. He is a fine undeveloped talent. He really needs someone to teach him to play offense and Ewing is not the one. Ewing had no hook, poor low post game and had to dribble to score.

9. It's the sport
that takes the most coordination. I played with all the falcons from the eighties and people who you would think were going to be great were average and on the other hand some people who you would think would stink were unbelievable. Case in point- Jamie Dukes- 6'1" 260 lb center was an unbelievable player and yet some defensive cornerbacks were very mediocre.
Even Bruce Bowen said that Dwight wasn't an elite player.
