http://digitalsportsdaily.com/mlb/435-can-cantu-keep-streak-alive.htmlFlorida Marlins 3rd Baseman Jorge Cantu extended his record setting hit-and-RBI streak on Thursday to ten games. The previous hit-and-RBI streak to start a season was eight games set by the New York Giants' George Kelly in 1921, a year after RBI became an official statistic.
"Hopefully I can continue to ride this, see where it takes me," said Cantu, who got his hit in the fifth inning of the Marlins 10-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds. "I don't know when it's going to come to an end. But right now, I'm happy."
Cantu is batting .308 on the season with three homeruns and 15 RBI. The streak has come during three series against the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers and the Reds, who have the best record of the three teams at 5-5.
The streak will be put to the test on Friday when the Marlins head to Philadelphia to take on Roy Halladay and the Phillies.
