Mike Shanahan on Tim Tebow: 'He's something that's very special'

As we noted earlier, Mike Shanahan had nice things to say about several of the quarterback prospects in this year's draft. But because he just finished visiting with Tim Tebow in-person, his remarks on the Florida Gators' Heisman Trophy winner seem especially noteworthy.

"I like everything about him," Shanahan said. "If you can't root for a guy like Tebow, man, you don't like your kids."

Shanahan visited the Gainesville, Fla., campus on Saturday, along with Washington general manager Bruce Allen and Scott Campbell, the team's director of player personnel. Speaking with reporters for the first time since seeing Tebow workout, Shanahan had a fairly glowing review this morning.

...could be much more accurately applied to Tim Tebow. There's a constituency of people that desperately wants to overhype Tebow and give him more chances than he probably deserves to succeed.
