I needed to put something a bit more exciting on! Seeing how the womens figure skating is over, that leaves NASCAR!!1!!

:D

BTW, I saw a couple of drivers take a right turn. They are now in the garage getting major repairs done!

4. U.S. played a good 1st period defensively, but they need to generate some traffic.
I can understand why they want to be more sound defensively after giving up 40+ shots in the first meeting, and I wouldn't abandon that yet, but they need some traffic in front on Luongo, and they had none in the 1st period. Shots from the outside aren't going to cut it. The U.S. needs garbage goals, and that comes from throwing pucks at the net, getting the big guys in front to take some bodies and block Luongo's view.

For Canada, they played great, even though they got little offense. Defensively they kept all the play to the outside and gave the U.S. no real chances.

I predicted a 5-2 Canada win talking to my father this morning, so we'll see how it unfolds. :)

They've played excellent since that game. Not saying the U.S. can't win, mind you, but beating Canada twice in one week is a tall order.

22. Upton is right, a 2 goal lead in hockey is brutal.
You don't know whether to keep playing the way you were or to start playing it safe. It's better to have it than not, but it's not like a 1 goal lead or a 3 goal lead. It catches you in that middle ground.

26. Brian Williams: Leaving behind a thank you note
Brian Williams: Leaving behind a thank you note
CTVOlympics.ca
By Brian Williams, NBC, CTVOlympics.ca Posted Sunday, February 28, 2010 4:03 PM ET

After tonight's broadcast and after looting our hotel mini-bars, we're going to try to brave the blizzard and fly east to home and hearth, and to do laundry well into next week. Before we leave this thoroughly polite country, the polite thing to do is leave behind a thank-you note.

Thank you, Canada: For being such good hosts. For your unfailing courtesy. For your (mostly) beautiful weather. For scheduling no more than 60 percent of your float plane departures at the exact moment when I was trying to say something on television. For not seeming to mind the occasional (or constant) good-natured mimicry of your accents. For your unique TV commercials -- for companies like Tim Hortons -- which made us laugh and cry. For securing this massive event without choking security, and without publicly displaying a single automatic weapon. For having the best garment design and logo-wear of the games -- you've made wearing your name a cool thing to do. For the sportsmanship we saw most of your athletes display. For not honking your horns. I didn't hear one car horn in 15 days -- which also means none of my fellow New Yorkers rented cars while visiting. For making us aware of how many of you have been watching NBC all these years. For having the good taste to have an anchorman named Brian Williams on your CTV network, who turns out to be such a nice guy. For the body scans at the airport which make pat-downs and cavity searches unnecessary. For designing those really cool LED Olympic rings in the harbor, which turned to gold when your athletes won one. For always saying nice things about the United States...when you know we're listening. For sharing Joannie Rochette with us. For reminding some of us we used to be a more civil society. Mostly, for welcoming the world with such ease and making lasting friends with all of us.

Both teams were pretty solid in the 2nd. The worst is any turnover by your blueline or the other team's blueline. Both teams need to dump it in and go after it if they get near the other team's blueline. As my friend always said on the rink to new players, "Save cute for the school pictures."

I'm a Bruins fan, so it was nice to see Tim Thomas get a nod for the backup spot, but there's no doubt that Miller was the guy all along. He plays like this every night for Buffalo. He doesn't lack confidence, the team around him does...and they shouldn't after this. :)

53. I get them from time to time
You know that feeling where you get where you know something is going to happen and it happens? I recall when the Saints were playing the Jaguars several years ago and they needed to win to stay alive for the playoffs. Anyways I knew the Saints were going to score on the last play via a lot of laterals which they did. Then when they scored the TD the announcers were showing a kick Carney missed and I said to myself in my mind he is going to miss the XP. Sure enough down by 1 he misses the XP and loses the game. Most bizarre finish I ever saw.

Anyways this is a very good game. I hope mad missed it watching left turn on lap #167 :P

Seeing games live you really get the sense of speed that tv just doesn't capture. Even if you can only catch a minor league game it's worth seeing live at least once. Just the sound of the skates on the ice is cool! :)

Just seeing the game played at that level is worth watching as a sports fan, even if you're not really a fan of the sport. There were so many small plays that never get commented on that made that game, simple little plays that this old hockey coach loves to see! Both teams played the game the right way, and Canada got the game winner. Hats off to them. That's hockey...I love the damn game. :)
