Colts Fans -- All 11 of Them -- Welcome Team at Airport
Here's how the optimist might look at it: the scene at the Indianapolis International Airport was the scaled-down, sober version of the impromptu parade that broke out in New Orleans. Instead of thousands of rabid fans lining the streets as the team motorcade made its way from the airport, Indy's faithful showed their support by staying home.

According to the Indianapolis Star, 11 fans greeted the Colts as they returned to town Monday afternoon.

Eleven.

"Win or lose, they're still our team," said Brownsburg resident Karen Calhoun, who carried a "Where's the parade" sign. The small group huddled together in the snow outside the closed Express Mail sorting facility at the airport...

Unfortunately, the team plane landed at a private terminal, the players and coaches quietly piled onto awaiting buses, and rolled off without getting within a few hundred feet of the 11 people in the greater-Indy area who thought it would be great fun to wait in the cold for the Super Bowl losers.

But that Midwestern spirit always shines through.

"We wanted to show our civil pride," said Paul Calhoun, Karen Calhoun's husband. And another onlooker, Marilyn Kurek, added "We still beat out 30 other teams."

They should put that on a t-shirt.

1. You know, if the Saints (God Forbid) had lost to the Dolts,
I still bet thousands would have greeted them at the airport.

2. Doesn't sound like the team tried to organize anything
Private terminal? A quick getaway?

What would you expect?

4. Anybody in their right mind would not want Hoosier hospitality.
Hoosiers are not all that hospitable. They are more of the type to want to be left alone.

In the over 22 years that I have lived in Indiana they are not very hospitable or more hospitable than other places I've been.

And considering that most of the Colts' players do not consider Indiana to be their home why should it matter?

8. Hey,
We will probably celebrate until All Saints Day, November 1st! Mardis Gras should be the biggest ever. I'm riding with Zulu. CBS Channel 4 will be on our float.

9. A flight from MSY to LAX was canceled
because the flight crew got caught in the parade.

No lie.

Get back with me when your city has a flight canceled because its team wins. WHO DAT??!!

11. Locals believe the flight crew
got caught up in the parade. Can't fly straight if you can't walk straight. But, that's just a rumor.
