At least one Jags player doesn't want Tebow
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog/dr_saturday/post/Tebow-to-Jags-talk-isn-t-sitting-well-with-at-le

Remember those rumors, way back in the fall, about the Jacksonville Jaguars setting their sights on hometown hero Tim Tebow before he'd even played his senior season? That owner Wayne Weaver was said to be considering plucking the Tebow Child early in the draft as a sales-boosting gambit? Lately, the scorn of the scouts and his obvious struggles in the Senior Bowl haven't tempered local enthusiasm for Tebow as the draft draws nigh, but at least one member of the franchise isn't afraid to express his, let's say ... misgivings about adding Tebow to the roster, according to the Florida Times-Union:

Nwaneri posted on the Jaguars’ Web site that, while cashing a check, a bank teller started talking about how Tebow will save the Jaguars.

So Nwaneri posted his five points on Tebow, with capital letters:

"1. He can't throw, PERIOD.

2. He can't read any coverage other than probably cover 2 or man.

3. The QB Wildcat WILL NOT WORK IN THIS LEAGUE. PERIOD.

4. He doesn’t know how to take a snap from center.

5. HE CAN’T THROW, and that’s really something you either have or not."

You MUST click the link to see a hilarious portrait of St. Tebow that they rigged up so I can't link it.

1. How many people think there's MORE than at least one?
Wow, big show of hands!

2. He's absolutely right about the QB Wildcat.
The reason it works for the Phins is Ronnie Brown is not a QB.

3. Ronnie Brown is a stud and one classy young man.
Too bad he has so many injuries. He, Caddy, and Campbell were one helluva' college backfield.

4. Nwaneri doesn't, and SHOULDN'T, have a say in the matter. He'll either play with a Tebow led Jags
should they decide to draft him, or play with someone else after being traded for a song. Nwaneri is a 5th round draft pick who only played this last season because of an injury to a teammate. I'd like to see him talk trash about the Jags owner if they do draft Tebow. My bet is that he'd be as meek as a kitten.

Tebow's a 67% passer over a four year career, and a 6 yard per rush runner who scored more touchdowns than not only Herschel Walker, but every other NCAA footballer who has ever played the game. All the hatred in the world won't change those facts.

The last time I was in a church was 1981 when I got married. So I guess you could say I'm not the biggest supporter of organized religion. I have to laugh though, when hatred for religion or anyone who professes their faith publicly colors someone's outlook so completely that they'll hold onto a couple of poor performances so tightly that their knuckles turn white while they proclaim to be watching a loser.

I look forward to seeing Tebow drafted in the first round, and going on to become a starting QB. Fuck a buncha haters.

5. Tebow will not be a good pro qb
He could be converted and make a decent football player, but his skills don't translate well in the NFL at the QB position.

7. Can I bother you for a couple stock tips? Should I buy Toyota stock? Gold?

You don't know to a certainty what Tebow's future holds, and neither does anyone else. Come on...

9. Are you Tebow's brother or something?
Any objective observer can see he's not nearly ready to run a pro offense, and may never be.

10. Again, I'd like to point out that you cannot say to a certainty what kind of QB Tebow will or will
not be.

Maybe YOU would like to advise me in the stock market? Or predict tomorrow's weather? Honestly... I mean come on.

11. If Tim frickin' Tebow is the best they could find at their spot in the first round...
Then they have bigger problems than just poor attendance.

12. Why didn't you just address the certainty of your prediction?

13. Because there is no certainty to it.
But I trust the opinion of the scouts and coaches that evaluate talent for a living more than I do the opinion of "random message board guy".

6. Tebow-led Jags? They might draft him, but he won't be leading them...
...certainly not at quarterback.

8. Tebow certainly won't be picked in the first round
He was a long shot prior to Senior Bowl week and game, which were disastrous for him. Apparently the media was not nearly as negative as scouts were, according to everything that has been posted on the draft insider boards this week.

A crank up delivery and wobbly downfield passes don't translate to the NFL. Tebow thrived largely due the nature of Florida's offense, which has correctly been summarized as implied play action. Defensive backs had to respect the bully run up the middle and that opened up everything.

With a standard delivery, Tebow would simply be a project, worthy of plenty of consideration. But that absurd throwing motion forfeits critical tenths of a second.

I remember this argument with Gator loyalists regarding Danny Weurffel, who was tremendous in college, certainly a more pure passer than Tebow. His loop ball passes similarly didn't translate to the NFL.
