his ERA is 4.82, which is surprisingly low, all things
considered, and not altogether awful for a #5 starter.


FWIW, Jason Phillips is hot; .343/.368/.486
that's an OPS above the magic .850 level. I doubt
it will last, but there it is.

2. he's a neat guy. there is a nice piece in the SD UnionTrib
from Sunday. phillips is from SD, and LA was hosting SD over the weekend.
