British sport hit by big freeze
You may even see some Premier League games being called off.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/front_page/8443978.stm

Snow and sub-zero temperatures have caused major disruption to the sporting calendar in Britain and Ireland.

Heavy snow and sub-zero temperatures have caused problems for clubs and race courses around the UK.

In addition to safety issues for players and jockeys as a result of frozen ground, the cold spell has caused travel chaos with road closures and widespread disruption to public transport. And with icy pavements and roads also becoming a serious issue, Sheffield Wednesday decided to take the decision to call off their Championship game with Peterborough.

Preston have also called off their game against Doncaster as have Watford for the visit of Sheffield United, while Reading's game with Championship leaders Newcastle is also postponed.

4. The beer sold at football grounds tends to be cack anyway.
I personally make sure to find a good pub before a match where I can do my drinking.

I'm fortunate really that there are a number of brilliant pubs in Sheffieldn such as the New Barrack Tavern, The Gardners Rest, The Wellington and the Kelham Island Tavern on the way up to my team's ground.
