There isn't a more exciting conference than the Big Ten. End of story.

5. Of course I will.
I live for this shit. I'm truly torn, El. A play-off? I would miss the shit out of the Bowls. Say what you want. The NCAA BB tourney? It has destroyed the regular season. Can you say irrelevant?

12. I don't want a tournament!
Who said that??????

I want to go back to the way it was with conference champions going to their bowl against invitees.

You can only have a tournament by adding games to players who need the time to pass their basket weaving classes.

2. The Cotton Bowl was OK until the 4th quarter, then an SEC team carried it.
That is if you were impressed with all the ejaculations from Fox about Jerry World.

And you didn't mind that each team looked rustier than the Tin Man.

And if you didn't mind Pat Summerall escaping out of his rest home to cover the game.

4. I'll tell you what, El.
Hearing Pat Summerall again. Just a great feeling. This is just shitty football, today. As I type this, happy just yelled that ECU missed the game winner. We got OT, baby! Of an absolute awful game. Forgive me, BOSS. You're Razors didn't show up.

10. OK. But when he said there was only 3 seconds left in the 1st quarter...
I had to do a double take. There was over 7 minutes.

17. Hey Condem
The Hogs didn't deserve a bowl game this year. They were horrid most of the year with just enough splash to qualify for a Bowl and Mallett is talking going pro?? Get that boy some mental health. Funny how bad both teams looked at times, the weather was horrible and then they play each other into more time in the bad weather. Skip Holtz and me, FHS Alumni.

Pat Summerall (former Razorback) did sound good. He's about 800 years old.

18. I better watch me trash talk, BOSS.
Being we still have to play. I can't remember a year where the Bowls were played in this type of weather. Hell, Tuesday's forecast for Miami is a HIGH of 59. We're 5 below, currently.

13. The SEC is 5-4 with the toughest bowl schedule.
Will end up 6-4 if Bama beats Texas. When the final rankings come out late next week, the SEC will have played 4 Top 10 teams - Penn State, Va Tech, Texas, and Cincy. The middle of the SEC was not that good this year. Auburn, Tennessee, and Arkansas are rebuilding with new coaches in their first or second years. Basically, a bunch of 7-5 teams trying to get back where they were a few years ago. Half to the Top 10 teams in recruiting rankings are in the SEC, so I look for an improved conference the next couple of years.

I think the 5 weeks between the regular season and bowl games, plus the 20-hour practice/play rule, has really degraded the level of play in bowl games. Some of these bowl teams do not even remotely resemble the same team back in November.

14. Bowl schedules may be somewhat debatable
I would say all of the conferences have seem some tough match-ups. I'll give the SEC credit for that. That said, you have to admit, the Big Ten has been pretty damned exciting to watch.

15. The truly impressive thing is they got *ten* out of twelve teams into bowls

only the two division cellar-dwellers Vandy and Mississippi State missed out.
