Chris Henry has died.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/12/17/AR2009121701947.html

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry has died, one day after suffering serious injuries upon falling out of the back of a pickup truck in what authorities describe as a domestic dispute with his fiancee.

Police say Henry died at 6:36 a.m. Thursday. Henry was 26.

Away from the team because of a broken forearm, Henry was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after being found on a residential road. Police say a dispute began at a home about a half-mile away, and Henry jumped into the bed of the pickup truck as his fiancee was driving away from the residence.

Police said at some point when she was driving, Henry "came out of the back of the vehicle."

..snip

Rest in Peace, Chris.

1. This is sad

I remember watching a show interviewing him on Fox Sports with his fiancee on 3 children. It has to be hard on all of them and thoughts to his whole family.

3. I think he was a troubled man and he led a troubled life
I just saw the news on my home page. I live near Cincinnati and I'm a long time Bengals fan. He was a very talented receiver, but he couldn't stay out of legal trouble long enough to play a whole season. I guess he was flying right this year, but had a season ending injury on Nov. 8. R.I.P. Chris. So much unfulfilled potential and now we'll never know how good he could have been.

when they have a game in San Diego on Sunday?

i was under the impression that there was work to do prior to NFL games that occurred on weekdays.

so he was out for the rest of the season. According to the articles i read earlier, the parents of the gal he was engaged to live in the Charlotte area, and they were there visiting for the holidays.

13. Suicide?
Edited on Mon Dec-21-09 02:10 AM by rocktivity
Neighbor Lee Hardy told WLWT-TV and The Cincinnati Enquirer that he was working in his yard when the truck left the driveway. Hardy said Henry was yelling that he needed to talk to the woman behind the wheel.

"He said, 'If you take off, I'm going to jump off the truck and kill myself,'" Hardy told the newspaper.

The first 911 tape was from an unidentified woman who said she was following a yellow pickup truck.

"It's got a black man on it with no shirt on, and he's got his arm in a cast and black pants on," she told a dispatcher. "He's beating on the back of this truck window. ... I don't know if he's trying to break in or something. It just looks crazy. It's a girl driving it."

Just over a minute later, an unidentified man called 911 and said he saw a man "laying in the road" and "definitely unconscious."

I thought he'd fallen off the tailgate trying to climb into the truck, but he was clearly in the truck bed if he was banging on the back window. So unless the truck hit one heck of a bump, he deliberately jumped or threw himself out.
