OK, let's have it: Predictions for tonight's Pats/Saints game
I am not making any predictions. I'm too terrified.

BUT

If the Pats win, they're in the running with Cincy and Jax for the other first round bye (the Colts have a lock on the first one). If they lose, they're only two games up on Miami and the Jets.

The stakes are far smaller for New Orleans. Yes, the undefeated season is on the line (the rest of NOs schedule is softer than pudding, so this is it), but they've got the division, home field and a bye locked up tight as a tick already.

They're at home, which is huge.

The Pats have been abominable on the road.

What say you?

12. I'm not watching.
The Saints are one of the best--if not THE best--second half team in football.

The Patriots have been outscored 55-10 in the second half of football games.

You do the math.

18. I didn't watch it...
...I can only assume the Pats defense let them down again...that's their big gap this year. Good thing their division sucks.

2. Pats by 3.
Undefeated Saints?

How is this possible?

3. Believe it or not, public money is on NE
The line was at 3.5, and I have seen it all the way down to 1. Being a betting man, I like to go against Joe Q. Public and so I'm taking the Saints.

I have no dog in this race. If anything, I should pull for NE because the Saints are in the same conference as the Cowboys. But my betting money will be on the Saints.

4. Jax is in the same division as Indianapolis so they're in the running with
San Diego/Denver for the first round bye. Jacksonville can only hope for a wild card spot.

8. No prediction from me.
Don't want to jinx the Pats. The noise in the Superdome is going to be a problem for them to begin with, I think.

9. The Stakes Are Significant for the Saints
They have to stay ahead of the Vikings to ensure home field throughout the playoffs. Although both teams play in a dome, you don't want to go on the road for that NFC championship game.

Tonight will be a shoot out with the Saints winning on a field goal.

11. NO over NE
by 10.

If the Saints win, I'll pick them as my official back up team to the Lions. I like them anyway (like NE too) but it would be such a strange experience for me to root for an undeated team, I'd like to try it.

16. Less than 2 minutes left in second quarter...
If they keep playing the way they have, I predict NO over NE by at least 21 points

I don't even want to watch, but it's like seeing a train wreck...you just can't help it.

:(
