Idiot Ed Reed just cost the Ravens the game
Colts are up 17-15 with 30 seconds left and they punt the ball away to the Ravens. Ed Reed decides instead of catching it and taking a knee so the team can try for a field goal, he trys running it back and then throwing it away where it's recovered by the colts. Game over. FUCK!

1. Ah but he has an interception and a forced fumble
He is a big reason why the Ravens were in it.

2. The Colts are beatable. That is all.
Whoever beats them has to be almost flawless, but it is doable.

3. Ravens coulda shoulda woulda beat them
had they been able to finish off their drives. That one missed field goal now really stings.

4. If even ONE of those FGs had been a TD we wouldn't be having this
conversation.

5. you win 1,000,000 internets
I want the Ravens team that opened the season, that could actually score touchdowns. I don't know when we decided to trade down for the old Raven's offense, but I missed that particular conference call.

12. It's interesting, both rookie QBs who exploded into the league last year...
Flacco and "Matty Ice", are both struggling this year. Sophomore slump? Teams now have a year of tape to look for weaknesses?

8. Ed Reed, Al Harris, Charles Woodson
and Nick Collins. Dream Defensive backfield. From my point of view anyway.

10. Probably the best Safety
Edited on Sun Nov-22-09 09:18 PM by JonLP24
IMO

In the game he had an interception and a forced fumble at the 1 yard line in Ravens territory(I mean 1 yard away from a Colts TD).

The Ravens only had 17 seconds and no timeouts so I can't fault him for trying to make a play.

13. Ed Reed never goes down with the ball
That's been true for several years. If he's running it back and senses he can't score, he'll lateral it regardless of whether a teammate is available. Often it's a wild fling over the shoulder or two inches off the ground. More often than not I've seen it backfire. As soon as he fielded that punt I was 100% certain he would get rid of the ball rather than go down tamely. It dates back to his senior year at Miami when a Canes defensive lineman intercepted a pass from Boston College in the final minute and merely needed to fall down to end the game, yet Reed decided to yank it away from him and run 90+ yards for a TD.
