Browns would give LeBron a shot
Great job, Mangini!!

BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- If LeBron James truly believes he can help the Cleveland Browns, coach Eric Mangini has an orange helmet waiting for him.

"I think he should come on down," Mangini said.

The NBA superstar, who was an All-State wide receiver in high school, said Tuesday night that if he put the time and commitment into it, he could be a good football player. Mangini agreed, calling James "a freak athletically" and said the 6-foot-8, 260-pounder could be dangerous at tight end, wide receiver or even outside linebacker.

Quarterback Brady Quinn also heard about James' football fetish. He would love to have a target to throw to like James in the red zone.

"That'd be great," Quinn said. "Tell him to suit up and let us know, we'll get him working. Obviously he's an incredibly talented athlete. If he wants to try to play a little bit now, we'd be more than willing to pick him up."

Browns nose tackle Shaun Rogers isn't convinced James, as great as he is, could step into the NFL and be able to handle the pounding.

1. He probably could have played in the NFL
Edited on Wed Nov-18-09 03:29 PM by JonLP24
if he went down that route. Not now because he didn't play college ball but he has records that still stand, scored 27 touchdowns and was recruited by Notre Dame and Ohio State among others.

Then again who knows? Aside from good route running and good hands you need to be a great athlete which Lebron is.

LOL though - Lebron should and will stick with basketball -- it appears to be working out for him :D

3. He'd be as good a football player as MJ was a baseball player
then again, that might be enough for the Clowns to franchise-tag him. :P

4. Put him at QB.
Seeing that Ray Rice had twice as high a passer rating last week, it's unlikely LeBron would be worse.

5. It's been like forever I seen you!!
The first College Football thread you were absent in was the week Arizona State played Washington and I was there talking to myself about the game expecting you to chime in. This is the first time I've seen you so welcome back wherever you've been. :hi:
