2. I like what the genius did
he went for the win right there. Sometimes you don't make it. But I have no doubt the Colts win the game if the Patriots punt anyhow.

6. The genius made a judgment call. He was wrong.
It happens.

Personally, I think y'all would be saying the same shit if he'd punted it away and Manning had just run his two-minute offense. He runs it better than probably any quarterback in the NFL and I guarantee you they'd have put it in the endzone.

7. Awsi made a good point in another thread
06-07 AFC Championship NE under similar circumstances punted it too Manning with a little over 2 minutes left with a 34-31 lead and that was with a veteran defense that is better then this year's version. Anyways Peyton drove 80 yards and won the game 38-34. I'm sure that was in Belichick's mind at the time when he made that call.

9. No I wouldn't.
I would be singing the praises of Manning's comeback abilities. I think Belichick really handed the game to the Colts. Had they come back on a long drive I would have said the Colts WON the game...

10. You could also say Laurence Maroney is responsible--remember? He coughed up
the ball on the 1-yard line and the Colts recovered. Had we scored instead, we'd have ended up up 31-14 early. The Moss TD later would have made it 38-14, and then the lead would have been insurmountable.

3. Yesterday with a minute left in the Phins game...
Edited on Mon Nov-16-09 08:58 AM by trumad
I had a similar post all keyed up for the Phins. With a minute and 40 left, Chad Henne threw an INT on his own 30 yard line. The Buc's scored and pulled ahead with about a minute left.

The post I had prepared would have scared little children and pets.

Well--- Chad redeemed himself and the Phins drove 60 yards---kicked a field goal, and won.

Now were two back thanks to Bill B's call.

;-)

5. Funny thing...
I forgot to change it and noticed it this morning after my 10th post.

I let out a small scream upon discovery.

14. Eh, if they pulled it off it was be praised
big deal they are both going to be in the playoffs

I am just pissed that the Colts (you I still despise from the Bal'mor move) lost to one of my favorite teams to watch, the Pats

15. My reaction too, but you know...
I don't think they would have escaped criticism no matter what they did.

If they hadn't gone for it on 4th down and lost, people would ask WHY didn't they go for it on 4th down

If they had won, people would complain that it was arrogance

If the pass had been caught and controlled just a hair more over the first down line, people would complain that it was the wrong call...that the Pats were being "favored" by the refs

I was just sick at heart over those two interceptions in/near the end zone that would have made this whole situation a moot point anyway. The Pats would have won easily.

sigh...

I just hope they don't repeat that performance in NO.

17. I think you left out an A, maybe two.
And a replay would have shown there was no "bobble". Faulk had a firm grip with his right hand the whole time and adjusted his grip on his left.
