many a good man (15-11) 8-9
givemebackmycountry (6-6) WEEK 7

*JonLP24 did not pick for St Louis@Seattle, week 1, so since Condem did gets first place for the weeek.

Half of weeks played puts you at a percentage so for weeks like 9 then half is 4. After this week (10) half will be 5 weeks played so if you're under the line keep making picks and you'll catch up.

Arizona (4-0 as underdogs, 1-3 as favorites :scared:)
Philadelphia

A very tough week for making picks. I could easily go the other way on many of these. Took a chance on a couple as well. :scared:

5. I'll watch Monday
I almost took Cleveland -- considering the bye, home field, national audience, and that Mangini's job is probably on the line, this is one the Browns could make close.

But then I came to my senses.

11. Browns Defense starting to show signs of life
...despite the loss of LBs D'Qwell Jackson and Eric Barton for the season. Home town boy Trusnik is playing with a lot of heart at OLB. With a TD return or two by Joshua Cribbs Browns may surprise by losing by 10 points or less.

This will be Jamal Lewis' last game against his favorite team. It should also be his last start as a pro.

Underdogs were 11-2 against the spread last week. I predict there will be a complete reversal of that record this weekend. Overdogs in CAPs:

JETS
DENVER
PITTSBURGH
TENNESSEE
MINNESOTA
NEW ORLEANS
ATLANTA
MIAMI
Kansas City
ARIZONA
Philadelphia
DALLAS
INDIANAPOLIS
Cleveland

17. Underdogs were 11-3 again!
I was wrong! However, I would've been right on the Browns if Joshua had a kick return for a TD the Browns would have beaten the spread!

10. They played Thursday which counts for this week as the other teams play Sunday-Monday
Which does not count as a bye as they played this 'week'. San Francisco's next game is Sunday after this weekend where they play the Packers @ Green Bay.

15. no - though the Bears made it seem that way
:eyes:

The Bears o-line SUCKS.

Jay Cutler isn't as bad as he's looked sometimes, because he gets poor protection, and there's NO run-blocking, so the offense is resting entirely on Cutler and his group of inexperienced (but talented) receivers.

The defense has also been pretty bad most of the year. I heard they did better on Thursday, but looking better against the 49ers doesn't seem all that hard.

(sorry for the off-topic rant, but I'm sick of the crap play of the Bears, and the frequent criticism of Cutler by Bears fans)

19. Oh wow -- brutal
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 10:23 AM by JonLP24
I'm glad I got some right. I was surprised it was unanimous Arizona picks. I thought they would probably win but not cover(I always pick Arizona). Seattle was a more healthier team especially on the offensive line(it showed) and the Cardinals were playing at home. That may seem strange but they play much better on the road then they do at home. Before last Sunday they were 1-3 at home while 4-0 on the road.

21. I guess the Tampa loss was still fresh in everyone's minds
It's the NFL, it happens.

I don't take much credit for, I have somewhat of a bias against Dallas so I usually pick against them. I remember I picked them against the Giants and they lost but that was because my ff opponent had the Giants D. :)

22. What I've seen from week 10
Cincinnati is for real.

Cleveland will likely pick first in the 2010 draft

Arizona will win the NFC West

Dallas could win the NFC East if there are no more injuries

JaMarcus Russell is an official flop

Indianapolis has a very good chance to go undefeated and face New Orleans in the Super Bowl.

23. Still 7 games left and 3 weeks of playoffs before the Super Bowl
It's no sure thing Arizona will win the NFC West, they just have a 2 game lead over SF(They have the tiebreaker) with 7 games left to play.

I liked Cincinnati since the beginning of the season(if you notice my picks, I consistently pick them) however a lot can happen. Dallas just has a 1 game lead over 2 teams and that can swing.

24. It looks like Westbrook is out in Philly -- maybe for good.
The Giants are reeling. And the remaining Dallas schedule isn't that tough. That's why I think Dallas can win.

You've got Warner. S.F. has Smith. No comparison. I like your chances.

25. Actually Dallas' schedule is fairly tough.
They have three games against Washington and Oakland, but they have home games San Diego and Philadelphia, and away games at New Orleans and the Giants. I see them finishing out 10-6 or 9-7, which still may be enough to win the NFC east.

28. On paper, perhaps
N.Y. is the enigma -- can they return to form? Philadelphia is vulnerable -- heck, they got creamed by the Oakland Raiders. Granted, San Diego and N.O. will be difficult. But it suddenly looks like it might not take much to win that division.

31. Any game between NFC east teams will be a tough one.
I've seen years when a team has been really down, and they will come in pound the division leader.

26. They got a good chance
Not disputing that however Dallas still has to finish the job. Same as Arizona.

lol about the comparison. Warner had me worried at first especially on 3rd down but he's improved through the season in that regard. 49ers have a good defense especially at stopping the run which is important. They need to start clicking on offense to score more points so I'm sure they will have to work on that. They nearly beat the Vikings and Colts(held Manning out of the endzone--Addai threw a TD pass though) so they have the ability. :)

27. Look at the SF stats though
Nearly every team they face puts up big passing yards. They still lead the league -- or are close to it -- in three and outs. Bad ball control. Weak O-line. Can't stop the pass.

29. #29th against the pass
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 12:12 PM by JonLP24
That hurts but that could be an effect from their #3 rush defense, possibly making teams pass more? lol Arizona is #30 in pass defense right behind SF. However that doesn't worry me because they are in the top 10 in stopping the run and they get quite a few sacksand are #7 in getting interceptions.
