My teams have had the worst two or three months ever! I need one of yours!
It's gotten to the point where I don't even want to watch sports anymore. The Red Wings are injury-ridden, the Pistons are rebuilding, the Tigers (with the help of Randy Marsh) broke everyone's hearts, the Shock got sold, Michigan's football team tanked, and Michigan's hockey team lost to Miami at home the other night. And I paid good money last Sunday to watch the Lions blow a 17-point lead right in front of my eyes!

My own teams are still number one in my heart and I'll keep rooting for them thick or thin, but I need another team fast! I'm currently accepting bids for another NFL team. Please note that I will not consider the Colts, the Cowboys, or the Ravens.

Thanks. I'm waiting for the offers to roll in!

1. You aren't talking to me right?
 Redskins, Nats, Maryland Terps, Wizards....even a little bit the Caps...some fine choices NOT...
I've kind of starting rooting for the Minnesota Vikings. They've never won the SB. I'd like to see them do so.

10. So glad to have you on board, TZ!
The Vikings winning the big one would make my century. Leave those crappy Foreskins until Snyder is gone, root for the Norsemen! :)

There's plenty of room on this bandwagon! I gotta admit, I've even warmed to the guy seeing him in purple.

5. Oh that's funny!
But the Broncos are doing well overall this year! They can go on the list.

3. I'd offer my Bay Area teams, but they suck, too
Edited on Wed Nov-11-09 01:25 PM by Jack Rabbit
The Giants were a pleasant surprise last year and I would guess they are just a solid hitter away from being really competitive. The 49ers are rebuilding and will be for some time, Al Davis is still attempting to prove the Raiders can go to the Super Bowl without a first rate quarterback; he keeps trying, although he gets the same result year after year. The NorCal NBA franchises, the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings (remember when they were the Cincinnati Royals?), aren't even that good.

I guess I could suggest rooting for Magnus Carlsen, a good looking Norwegian teenager.

6. No.....the Wings have done well
and the Shock won the WNBA in 2008 - it hasn't all been bad. Michigan's basketball team got in the playoffs and did okay, and the Michigan hockey team was good, too.

7. I suggest the Steelers
Good ownership that always find a way to be competitive. This coming from someone who grew up in Cleveland, no less.

Not one of my teams, mind you. I just really respect the organization.

9. Not complaining at all how the Wings have done overall
I'm just saying my teams are going through a real dry spell right now - and I am seeking a secondary NFL franchise (preferably one that will make the playoffs) so that at least I have something to watch on Sundays!

17. I'm currently only seeking a backup NFL team!!!!!
Edited on Wed Nov-11-09 04:29 PM by LisaM
I've narrowed it down to a few, the Jets, New Orleans, Buffalo, Cincinncati, and Pittsburgh. Since some of them are bitter rivals with the others, I guess I'd better make up my mind!!

The other teams were listed just to show what a crap year my teams are having. I go home at night and I don't even put sports on TV. Heck, it's so bad that my SO is watching poker and when I got home last night, he said, "don't tell me if you know who won" and even sadder than that was the fact that I did.

21. You're welcome in New England until the Michigan teams turn around :)
Our pro baseball, football, basketball, and hockey teams are all pretty solid (though you'll be downgrading a little on the NHL). We have the Connecticut Sun, they didn't finish much worse than the Shock. For college football and basketball, our teams are mediocre at best but our college hockey is very good.

22. I do like the Patriots (as do most Michigan fans)
because of Brady (ducking). And my ancestors did land in Boston around 1635, so they'd be a good fit! They're on the list.

I'll watch the tryouts this weekend and let you know my backup NFL team on Monday.
