1. phuck yes
and it has the added bonus of being in the middle, so it's a great big middle finger to Weiss.

5. If they do fire him
They'll probably bring in someone else to lose a few games.

7. They should wait until the end of the season...get that boost from a
new coach at the beginning of next season...who cares what they do with this season now, it's lost.

10. That's what I mean
I don't imagine ND fire him during this season but I have a feeling whoever they bring in who will have similar success that Weiss has had.

8. ND keeps going through coaches
and things never get any better. Oh, the odd really good year pops up now and then but the truth is, ND is no longer an elite program, they no longer get the best athletes. What do you want Charlie Weis to do?

12. Lets see
Davie, Willingham, now Weis....it can't be that all 3 are bad coaches, something else is going on.

13. It wasn't Weiss on the field unable to sack Forcier or prevent the TD pass
Edited on Mon Nov-09-09 10:59 AM by JonLP24
It wasn't Weiss that threw a bad pass that could have beat USC. It wasn't Weiss that was blocking instead of catching wear Navy got that interception. Those are the 3 losses there.

Edit/Agreeing with you here.

Even though I pretty much called out Clausen and Golden Tate on those two plays they are actually having a good season. The players.

17. If a team isn't focused, and loses when they should win, it's the coach's
fault, pure and simple.

11. Keep him!
Sign him to another contract extension. The more damage Mr. Weis can do to that "storied" program (who doesn't have the balls to join a conference and gets beat regularly by the service academies) the better.

14. I'll be quite honest with you.
It's going to be nearly impossible for ND to be competitive in today's college football, for a very good reason. They actually care about their football players getting an education. I am *far* from being a Notre Dame fan, but I gotta give them props on this. They have one of the highest graduation rates in Div I athletics. Other schools are merely football factories (Ohio State, Floriduh, LSU, you name it). They offer kids a scholarship, they barely attend classes (or not at all), in 2-3 years move on to be drafted into the NFL and never get their degree. That is the formula to win in the BCS.

18. That's true...but they could at least be mediocore...they're still
getting the talent, but Weis just can't get the kids fired up at all.

29. I'm a Trojans Fan Because I Went to the School
But college football still blows man. Most of the games are awful. No playoffs. And, whichever team has the fastest guys always win.

Even the USC/ND games are awful to watch.

30. Absolutely not. I love how Notre Dame is playing now.
Losing to Michigan and Navy in the same year? I'd say he's doing a GREAT job, and should stay there for a long time.
