10. According to Your Thinking, Cowboys BOUGHT Their First Place
Cowboys have the 2nd highest payroll in the NFL at $146 million:

http://www.google.com/search?q=Dallas+Cowboys+2009+payroll&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7DELA

BTW, it would be the 2nd highest payroll in MLB. Higher than the Mets!!!

YOU BOUGHT YOUR FIRST PLACE!!!!

19. Can't believe I'm defending Dallas, but...
There's a hell of a lot more players on an NFL roster than an MLB roster, obviously. And unless the other 31 owners decide to start doing things on the cheap, there's no way Jerry Jones can outspend the next highest spending team by over 60 million dollars. Because they have a salary cap in the NFL. Your comparison is complete bullshit.

And the word is "hypocrisy".

20. I'll Try To Explain It To You
The Yankees are called, "Evil", and "Satanic" because they spend more than the other teams in MLB. Yet, the OP is a Cowboys' fan whose team also spends more than ALL other NFL teams except for one.

The spending amounts are irrelevant to the main logic of the OP's argument that out-spending other teams is considered "EVIL".

Now, if you cannot understand that, then your logic is bullshit.

Hypocrisy. Now, I spelled it correctly. Are you happy, Grammar Hitler?

21. That really is moronic! You comment that the Cowboys have the second
highest payroll, but which you conveniently omit, is that all of the NFL is within plus-or-minus 8% of each other. That, my friend, is called parity. Also, the NFL has what is called revenue sharing.

Now for your example, the yankees spend nearly 50% more than the second highest spending team. Can you explain that away, kiddoe?

That, my friend, is a false arguement that you are using.

23. Your Quote: "is that all of the NFL is within plus-or-minus 8% of each other"
Edited on Mon Nov-09-09 05:21 PM by Yavin4
Really? Really, Margaret? "all of the NFL is within plus-or-minus 8% of each other"? Really?

Well then, let's take a look shall we?

For example, Dallas has a $146 million payroll. Atlanta has a $96 million payroll. For a difference of $50 million. 50/96 = .52. IOW, the Cowboys spend 52% more than the Atlanta Falcons. My math tells me that 52% is far greater than the "+/-8%" that you quoted.

Say, didn't the Cowboys just defeat the Falcons recently? BOUGHT WIN!

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/dallas-cowboys/salary

Epic fail on your part, HYPOCRITE!

29. Actually did you take statistics? You have posted the most incredibly
uninformed comments on this site in recent history.

Think about this, my friend, Atlanta is the lowest at 96M and Oakland is at the highest at 152M. Based on your stats from earlier, that would make the average around 126M. I think you could probably run the numbers and the median would be in the same neighborhood. Yes, your are right, 8% is a bit low, Dallas would be around 20% higher than the median and average.

Now about your team. Looking at your figures, the average would be around 100M. If you have the obvious skew of the yankees, then it might be 110M. Either way, you are TWICE (that would be 100% higher) as MUCH as the average of MLB.

You have proven yourself to be strictly an apologist and a LOSER.

BTW,

Nice post, cboy4. So he hijacked your account?

Really? I posted actual payroll figures and did an analysis between two teams. How exactly is that uninformed?

Think about this, my friend, Atlanta is the lowest at 96M and Oakland is at the highest at 152M. Based on your stats from earlier, that would make the average around 126M. Oh, so now, we have to massage the actual numbers to prove your point, huh? You are hysterical.

Look, the point is this. You have said in thread after thread that the Yankees are "evil" because they use their payroll to win their championship, and all that I have done in this thread is show you that the Cowboys do the exact same thing. In fact, in my post below, Jerry Jones, owner of your beloved Cowboys wants to abolish the NFL's salary cap!

For you to point fingers at the Yankees when your team does the exact same thing is H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-S-Y!!!!

And your only rebuttal is to call me names. Wow!

Game. Set. Match.

Edited on Mon Nov-09-09 05:50 PM by BulletproofLandshark
then they need to win every year. The way you've shit all over this forum over the last few days is EXACTLY why there's so much animosity towards not only the Yankees, but their fanbase (with its overinflated sense of entitlement.) And like Mad said in so many words upthread, there's no comparison between how the Yankees outspend the world and how the Cowboys spend on players. The Yankees are so far above and beyond the rest of baseball in spending they could field TWO contending teams. Only a Yankees fan couldn't see how fucked up and out of whack that is.

25. I Don't Really Care What Non-Yankee Fans Think
I know that the Yankees are unpopular with a lot of fans, but so are all successful franchises and college teams. However, I didn't " shit all over this forum" like you said. I just expressed my opinion which is my legitimate right as a DUer. You, nor mad, nor anyone else have the ONLY right to express your opinion. In fact, all that I ever did was express my opinion and post pictures, nothing else. I never used foul language or vulgar terms, nor did I call another team, "evil" or "satan" or any other juvenile term like so many other posters have.

Second, in this thread, all that I ever did was point out the hypocrisy of the OP. The OP is a fan of a team that DOES EXACTLY the same thing as the Yankees, spend money to secure a competitive advantage, and in my posts, I showed exactly that. Now, if you cannot handle the truth, then so be it.

I have every right to root for my teams and express my opinions, and if you cannot handle that, then read another forum or put me on ignore. I will not be bullied from speaking out.

34. End revenue-sharing, Dallas owner says
The owner of the Dallas Cowboys said that revenue-sharing will go away after the NFL's current collective bargaining agreement expires after the 2010 season.

"We're in the last year of our collective bargaining agreement next year, that's an uncapped year, and then you don't have it anymore right there," Jones said. "It goes away automatically right there. When the labor agreement is over, it will be over and when there's a new one in it won't be a part of it."

"Eighty-five percent is far in excess of what any other leagues share," Jones said, talking about the current model. "What we're talking about is above 85 percent. That's what is subsidizing this market right now is above 85 percent. That's going to stop."
