1. Looks like New England is going to win this one
It seemed like a good back and forth game based on the game breaks from another game I was watching.

2.  New England 27, Miami 17
Miami played pretty good.

That 70 yard TD pass to Moss in the 3rd quarter killed us.

With Tampa Bay, Carolina, and Buffalo coming up Miami has a chance to pick up a few wins before the rematch in December.

3. DeAngelo Williams scored on a 66 yard run very early in the game
They are playing New Orleans but they are running the ball very good.

6. Oh wow (Tampa Bay)
Edited on Sun Nov-08-09 04:39 PM by JonLP24
Fox did show that game after the game I was watching was over but cut it out due to NFL rules stating they can only show a bonus game 15 minutes past the hour so I missed the ending x(

Green Bay was down by 3 with the ball at the time.

Maybe Tampa should stick with their cream sickle jerseys :silly: I like the helmet logo but hate the jersey colors.

5. Yep, Miami now has 5 losses
I believe that's the same amount of defeats they had all of last season. The difference being, this year the Dolphins are playing a REAL schedule.

7. Yeah Douche

9. Vince Young is looking good
Edited on Sun Nov-08-09 05:01 PM by JonLP24
He only threw two incompletions last week against Jacksonville and only has a few this week with a rushing touchdown. I'm watching Titans vs 49ers and they have a 10-3 lead. The Titans recently signed Roderick Hood who started for the Cardinals last year and he has an interception.

10. Frank Gore just knotted things up
Edited on Sun Nov-08-09 05:35 PM by JonLP24
Alex Smith threw a nice long pass to Vernon Davis to set up that short TD run. 10-10.

EDIT/Impressive touchdown pass by Alex Smith. 17-10 49ers, 20 seconds to halftime.

17. Game ball goes to Chris Hope
Edited on Sun Nov-08-09 07:37 PM by JonLP24
49ers had the ball down by 4 and Alex Smith throws it and Hope jumps the route, Tennessee kicks a FG to go up 7. Then very next play Alex Smith throws it and Hope tips it up in the air and a different Titans defender intercepts it off the deflection and returns it for a touchdown which was caused by Chris Hope. There is still 2:45 left but they are down by 14. If the Titans hold on Vince Young is 2-0 as a starter.

Edit/Titans win 34-27, 49ers didn't recover onside kick after late touchdown.

20. They are breaking in a new
QB with no experience in the pro game. Any team suffers when that happens....
Not particularly a Miami fan, but I think that has a lot to do with their record.

8. Good game today
I thought the Pat's would kill us..... because of our very inexperienced secondary.

Plus---we need receivers bad---- Ginn continues to disappoint...we just simply can't stretch the field like Moss and Brady.

See ya in a couple of weeks. :-)

12. It was closer than I expected
I thought we'd lose along the lines of the San Diego game, physically hanging in there but foiled by turnovers and big pass plays.

Actually, I guess the final margin was similar to the Charger game but Miami was more competitive today.

23. He actually didn't say 'we'll beat them, blah, blah'
Edited on Mon Nov-09-09 03:06 PM by JonLP24
He was asked a question and he answered and he said pretty much what is a common opinion here on DU. They changed the rule based on a Brady injury and said all he has to do is point to a ref and he gets the call(I believe he is basing that on the Ravens game where a player barely touches Brady's leg but did the dive and immediately afterwards Brady pointed to the ref and got the flag) and that the Patriots were caught cheating(tapegate) and whenever it comes to cheating everyone wants to put an asterisk by it except no one wants to put an asterisk next to New England's championships. (paraphrasing)

I'm not saying I agree completely with Porter but that is what he said which is in fact an opinion a lot of sports fans have.

27. Actually
The last two times Porter talked shit about the Pats, he and the Dolphins wound up kicking the shit out of us. He did it last year when they thrashed us 38-13 when they unveiled the Wildcat, and he did it again two years ago when they crushed us 28-0 in our own house.

I have a lot of respect for Miami as a division rival, and as much as I think Porter is a loudmouthed douchebag, I can't say he doesn't back his shit up more often than not. He didn't this time, but that's the exception rather than the rule. And don't forget, he gets another chance to make an impact in a few weeks, right after we've played a brutal stretch of schedule. This particular rhubarb ain't over yet.
