NFL Week 9 picks (with point spreads)
The NFL has given us some great mid-season match-ups in the nationally televised Pittsburgh/Denver and Philly/Dallas games. There are fewer "gimmes" this week with Minnesota, Oakland, Cleveland, and St. Louis having byes. Another tough one -- but still fun. Good luck.

Pittsburgh / 3 / DENVER

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

13. Joey joey joey....
You picked WASHINGTON again? Have you not been following the insanity in DC? John Riggins called Dan Snyder a bad man with a black heart...He got the defense coordinator to come out and give a 3 minute talk about what a "great" guy Snyder is (:eyes:) and then Jim Zorn started in on how Snyder is the nicest guy....
My pick on this game is Atlanta 28-Washington 9

14. He seems like a "great" guy if everything Blanche said is true
"I'll tell you something from a person who's been here for six years who's gone to him for things that I've needed in my family, there's times that he's come to me when he's heard about issues in my family, and offered his assistance. It's unsurpassed. He's one of the most generous, kind individuals you'll ever meet. My wife and I are involved in hospice, and there's been countless times he's come and helped us with issues with hospice. So to see that and get the feeling that that's what everybody on the outside gets to hear about this person, I just felt like it was time for somebody to stand up and set the record straight.

Making some bad business decisions (I've read reports he does spend money on players and makes an effort to sign the big free agents unlike some frugal owners) is one thing but the 'dark heart' comment is something else. 1

15. Well it doesn't help that Snyder cut down a whole lot of trees
in front of his house (big old trees)so he could have a better view of the river. There are too many stories also about him buying up media outlets to make sure no bad publicity is done on the Redskins (firing or threatening to fire broadcasters if they don't do positive Redskins stories). Is he 100% evil? Of course not. And I'm sure he does do some good charity work for his employees. But there is no denying he's disliked for some very real reasons here.

No one in the NFL has clinched a playoff spot though the Colts and Saints are close. Still 8 games left and a lot can happen.

25. It's a divisional matter now -- one the Cardinals control.
Thanks for the encouragement but I don't see it for S.F. Even with similar schedules I can't see the Niners beating Philly or G.B. on the road -- or your Cardinals in S.F.

Loosing to Tampa. The Eagles weren't too difficult to predict either, this is a team that lost to Oakland.

I hate picking Dallas but nonetheless it wasn't so easy for me. Eagles blew out the Giants at Philly where the Giants beat the Cowboys in Dallas.

29. What a week for the underdogs!
If you picked the underdog to beat the spread in each game you would have gone 11-2.

Only one of us picked Carolina over New Orleans - the week's winner. Congrats JonLP24.
