Porter takes licks on Brady - Says Patriots QB gets preferential treatment (
Asked by Rich Eisen on NFL Network's "Around the League" whether Brady has a special set of rules to take care of him, Porter went off.

"No question," Porter said. "When a guy can tell a ref when to throw a flag, and he gets it, he's got his own rules. They made the rule that you don't go at the legs for Tom, so when he feels that someone is going at his legs, he just points to the ref and he gets a flag. So I can honestly say that he gets his own rules."

The comments come a day after Porter said he had "a natural hate" for the Patriots. When pressed by Eisen about why he feels that way, Porter said it all goes back to the Patriots' practice of videotaping defensive coaching signals.

"I still don't care for New England," Porter said. "The hate's been there for a while, especially after all the cheating they did back in the day. … They can sweep it under the rug if they want to, but just like anybody else that's cheating that gets caught, you put an asterisk by it. But nobody puts an asterisk by those championships."

8. Probably.
Most of the sports leagues go out of the way to protect/promote their stars, which usually leads to them getting the benefit of the doubt when it comes to questionable calls ... Sidney Crosby in the NHL, Kobe Bryant in the NBA, and of course Brett Favre along with Brady in the NFL.

9. It was all a huge plot!
Brady didn't really get injured last season. He's so diabolical that the injury was faked so that when he came back he could use it to influence the refs and make them feel sorry enough for him so that all he has to do is stuck out his lower lip and whimper a little bit and they'll be giving the opposing defense 30 yard penalties just for looking at him cross-eyed.

In fact, he's hoping that the pity factor gives them another perfect regular season and....er...um...

never mind

:silly:

anyway, like someone else here said....Joey Porter...always a class act.

13. Do I sense a lot of hostility and bitterness on your part, Dinger.
Take a breather, and don't worry about it. Besides, the Cowboys would have kicked your butts with or without your god, Brett!

I admit, I hung on longer than some of my counterparts, but at this point, I don't even want him to go into the Hall a Packer; let him go as a vicking, fuck it.

14. He's half right. ALL the QBs get preferential treatment.
Butkus, perhaps the best tackler ever, couldn't even play in the league now without so many fines that he'd be banned. The rules are geared to help the offense, not the defense, and the QB's especially are treated like babies. It's the one aspect of football that drives me nuts. If they didn't want to be hit they should have played baseball.

17. Why don't they just legalize holding?
How many fucking times are drives killed by a pansy-assed holding call. Then you would be able to protect the QB easier. And then go back to the standing roughing the QB call.

18. lol there is a good reason holding is illegal
A defender can beat an O-line and have an open shot at the QB only to be wrapped and hugged or tackled by the O-linemen he beat.
