1. Congrats, Yankee fans...
On supporting douchebags.

You're the Republicans of the sports world.

So there!

2. What game of the series was this?
Edited on Sun Oct-18-09 12:13 AM by gateley
Edit to clarify I know it's not THE Series, just in case you wondered.

Thanks.

3. Second game, Yanks 2, Angels 0.
Coming back to the warm confines of Edison Field, or what Angel Fans call "The Big Ed".

Gametime Monday should be about 80-85 degrees.

9. Thanks! Although the Angels sure gave the Yankees a run for their money
in that cold, windy stadium. Hope they win on Monday --

I just like to see each series go the distance because I want to see every game possible before it's all over.

:hi:

my boyfriend of something. :7

18. Damn if I don't feel the same way...
Except for the boyfriend thing.

I take comfort every year in the fact though that it's only a five month hole in my life before Spring Training starts again...

26. Ain't it the truth! With 162+ games, it feels like there will be a game every day..
until there isn't..

BTW, I'm pretty sure that it's Dodgers/Yankees that Fox wants in the series.
I've nothing against the Dodgers, but I couldn't bear seeing Joe Torre at the Stadium with another team. If it comes down to the Dodgers v. Anaheim, I'll definitely root for the Dodgers.

Also, if you click on this Google Maps link, you'll see a mapped representation of the World Series winners from 1903 to 2008. It might take a few moments to load, but I think it's cute. (Of course, I created it lol.)Took me awhile to track down some of the logos for the now gone teams. Clicking on the logos brings up info abt that particular series. (Zoom to the stadium level.)

27. Really enjoyed your map. I had to click through all of them.
While I knew the St. Louis Browns did win a pennant I was not aware the original Washington Senators had won a World Championship.

I did notice one error--in 1966 the Orioles beat the Dodgers, not the Angles.

But I think they needed this one, if they hoped to make it interesting.

But I know what you mean. Hopefully the Angels will win at home.

It is not a game anymore. It's a face-off of drugged up personalities.

20. I would hope so..
after you spend half a billion dollars on a few players you ought to win. Still, here is hoping they crash and burn.

23. Better than the owners who pocket their $$ instead of spending it so..
their fans get to see a better team. It's particularly touching when they pocket money that they receive from the Yankees (and a few other teams) under the revenue sharing plan, rather than spending it on the teams. Say what you want about the now ailing Mr. Steinbrenner, he spent a lot of money to put together good teams and continued to do so even when they didn't win.

I might be a bit off about this but 7 of the 8 highest salary teams were the ones who made it to the playoffs. (The Mets were the ones who did not make it.)

24. Yankees win, because they have more money that anyone else
They are the Manchester United of American baseball. Ruins a good game if you ask me.

And I don't have to pay for the privilege of feeding Steinbrenner's ego.

28. Yankees win, because:
{a} they are the greatest team in sports history; {b} this team will earn its spot in Yankee history, as it is superior in every aspect to the other teams playing this year.
