1. I wanted to watch that game but never got around to it
I was curious how they would fare against a team like Phoenix. I've noticed San Jose has difficulty clearing out the front of their own net or musceling out the center of the neutral zone.
They are loaded with skill (tons of it in fact) but lack that grit factor. I think Clowe might be the only guy to fit that bill but haven't seen much of him.
I think San Jose's playoff woes are starting to translate into the regular season. Eventually, if you don't address those weaknesses, other teams pick up on them and exploit them.
the Sharks got 5 out of 6 points on the homestand. If you're expecting a regular season like last year...don't be, they've got a lot of new players. They'll make the playoffs easily though..
3. Have you even watched the other teams in your conference?
Everyone except maybe Nashville and Minnesota looks like a pretty decent bet to make the playoffs. I think the west is pretty wide open up and down the conference.
LA, and Edmonton look to be back on track and in the post season this year.
Colorado actually looks really good and like they turned the corner. The transition for Duchene and Wolsky is gonna be really smooth as that team already has a pretty decent core group of vets in place.
No one out west is a sure bet. That conference is gonna come down to who makes the fewest mistakes and avoids the injury bug. Tight up and down the whole thing.
I was trying to watch 'Cardinals Overtime' at it's scheduled time. Instead it was the Coyotes and Sharks tied at 0-0 in Overtime(hey I thought it was strange) and it was tied after overtime and saw my first ever Hockey shootout(Something I only saw in the movies) The Coyotes 4th guy scored then the Sharks 5th guy scored. Then the Coyotes 5th guy scored to win and I thought Hockey was boring.
I thought I remembered 3 guys from each side missing the first shots or maybe it was two. I do remember the Sharks missed the first and the second one was wide.
Phoenix came out with a good defensive plan and stuck to it. Plus Bryzgalov played a great game in the nets. Not worried about the Sharks and also excited about the Kings.
