Plaxico Goes To Jail
This is ridiculous! HE DIDN'T HURT ANYBODY!

Yeah, he broke the law. Yeah, he shouldn't have been carrying that gun!

But two years in the slam for doing something that hurt nobody else.

A $100k fine and 18 months of community service would be WAY more useful to the rest of society.

1. I think we all feel the same way
Bloomberg singled him out from the start. He was screwed.

2. it's almost, ALMOST cruel and unusual punishment
high profile athlete commits a crime in a city that's in the middle of an election year. No one wants to appear soft on crime while they are running and here's the perfect opportunity to show how tough on crime they are. Wrong crime, wrong place, wrong time.

5. I was about to disagree with you, but then I saw the picture of him holding his three-year old.
The guy was an idiot who deserves to go to prison, but to have to say goodbye to your kid for two years is pretty rough.

6. But he could have...it was only dumb luck he didn't hurt anyone...
...I am fine with two years...no, more than fine...maybe that's the only way idiots like him might learn something.

7. Yeah but then think about idiots like that Jason somebody (basketball player)
who shot and killed a person and has done NO TIME because of a hung jury. Whats worse..doing time for not hurting anybody else..or walking around free after having carelessly killed someone. I do not feel sorry for Burress. He so easily could have hurt someone.
