I'm chuckling at all this Viking Super Bowl talk...
I'm telling you right now---- King Favre has hit the wall with his skills. It's convenient to blame a shoulder injury for last seasons meltdown---(an injury he never had repaired)---- but all you have to do is watch his replays at the end of the season and you will see his meltdowns occur in the pocket----and that's exactly the signal that a QB has hit the wall in his career.

When you lose the ability to stay in control in the pocket---and all the great ones do---- you quickly fall apart.

You're going to see teams go after Brett big time this season.... Oh sure....he may have a few good games---and they might be the first couple like last season... but mark my words.. it will be ugly.

Super Bowl? LOL

2. Super Bowl? No way...
Minnesota starts with Cleveland and Detroit, albeit on the road, but then...

San Francisco
Green Bay
@ St. Louis
Baltimore
@ Pittsburgh
@ Green Bay
Detroit
Seattle
Chicago
@ Arizona
Cincinnati
@ Carolina
@ Chicago
N.Y. Giants

7W-9L, IMO. Maybe 8W-8L

That's providing Favre can stay healthy AND get in sync with the Vikings offense in less than three weeks. :eyes:

3. A washed up QB w/ shoulder problems and prone to throwing INT's in critical situations
is just what the Vikings need to take them to the next level. The Favre era in Minnesota will end in anger and resentment, I predict.

4. Did I read right??
They gave him a 2 year contract?? Is he gonna take the money and run at the end of the year and cry that he wants to retire again. Give it up Brett. But really thanks again for coming back last year. We got ourselves a really good QB because of your stupidity (and the Jets, too).

possibly even win the division..they did last year without Farve.

This will set them apart from the Dolphins who have no chance of doing either.

Say, was that a thread of yours I saw being locked?...Now that IS funny..

11. The advertisement spots for the Packer/Vikings game will be
premium. It will be one of the most top watched games of the year. The audience made up of those that love Favre, those that love to hate him and those that are just watching to seem him crash or be crashed into and smashed (like a nascar race).

12. It wasn't a shoulder injury that was blamed.
And the injury that was blamed was repaired.

Brett Favre recently had arthroscopic surgery on his ailing right shoulder, ESPN reported Sunday night, another indication the three-time NFL MVP is considering coming out of retirement.

ESPN, citing two anonymous sources, reported that Favre had surgery last month to repair the torn biceps tendon that bothered him late last season with the New York Jets. Favre retired in February, but the Jets released him at his request in April -- making him a free agent.

The 39-year-old quarterback insisted he hasn't decided whether he'll return to the New York Jets next season, but he said the health of his shoulder could be a factor.

"I think the ending physical, or whatever, that every player goes through after the last game will kind of maybe shed some light on some things," he said. "So we'll see."

Favre has struggled for several weeks, with one touchdown and six interceptions in New York's last four games, three of them losses. His arm strength doesn't appear to be what it was earlier this season, and that has led to speculation his right shoulder may be ailing. Favre did little to dispel that notion.

15. So what are you saying wasn't repaired? The biceps tendon was relieved.
That is what was being blamed for the decline in performance last year. Are you referring to the partially torn rotator cuff?

17. Ok, it was revealed that he has a partially torn rotator cuff when he got the biceps tendon cut.
They did not repair the rotator cuff because it would mean he would lose at least a season. The biceps tendon was relieved and should not be an issue, so it was "fixed". John Elway had the same surgery to relieve chronic pain shortly before his Super Bowl wins.

He's done and it's going to be fun to watch him embarrass himself until he goes down with injury or whatever.

The guy just looks OLD, and I really don;t see how he'll be effective all season long at 40.

21. Very good analysis from NFL Films Senior Producer Greg Cosell
• How much does Brett Favre have left?
"I watched every throw Brett made in 2008 again over the last couple of months and what was noticeable to me was that, unlike when he was younger, he really struggles to throw the ball to the outside. He is still very effective in the middle of the field, but he can't snap off the throws that are outside the hashes like he used to. It is clear he has some limitations on the perimeter."
• Was there a noticeable difference in Favre's arm strength in the last five games with his shoulder or was it primarily decision making?
"I think, actually, you have to go back to when they played Cincinnati in Week 6 and he got hit hard when he threw a ball and you could see him favoring it. I think that's actually when it started.
"As with any injury, it is impossible to decipher from the film when it is bothering him and when it isn't. But from that point it consistently looked like he wasn't snapping it off with the torque we are used to seeing. It was clear that he hurt himself then. He had some good games after that, but there were some staple Favre throws that he was struggling with.
"For example, he threw a seam post in the Kansas City game to Dustin Keller and the ball just died on him. It was still a completion but Keller had to slow up and it should have been a touchdown. Now I don't how he felt, I can just tell you what I see."
