Giants CRUSH helpless Mets 10-1
The Giants moved back to within 1 game of the Wild Card lead as they embarrassed the Mets in the finale of the 4 game series.

Giants hitters pounded out a season high 18 hits, led by Aaron Rowand's 4 plus a HR (Rowand also threw a Met out at home).

Joe Martinez picked up his 3rd win of the year as 5 Giants pitchers throttled the hapless Mets.

David Wright met with Matt Cain before the game and told him he understood Saturday's incident was an accident. In fact, Wright said he never felt there was any intent on Cain's part. "He might have wanted to come in, but he definitely didn't want to throw the ball right through," Wright said.

2. A win is a win

whether it's against the Mets in front of 38,000 or facing the Marlins before an empty LandShark Stadium.

They all count the same and the Giants need every one they can get..

Edit: I checked it out, at 5-4 your Marlins aren't exactly chewing up the Mets either.

4. I just checked and your giants are 3-5 against the Mets
on the season.

5-4 would be an over .500 record.

Now, math ain't my strong suit but last I checked it's a much better record than 3-5.

You should thank your luckky stars that the NL East got stuck playing the AL East for a month. You'd be miles out of race if they didn't.

Douche.

8. The Giants are a playoff contender
they finished 18 games under .500 last year and haven't had a winning record since 2004. This season has been a great source of joy for me...it would appear you're either too cantankerous or too jaded to understand that. Or perhaps you've taken on the apathetic nature that seems to have infected most Marlin fans.

And while it's an exaggeration to suggest I post "bragging threads on a daily basis"...the fact that such postings irritate you just makes things so much the merrier.

11. Then why don't you post when they lose
If you LOVE your team so much, why not be a WHOLE fan. You really should take the good with the bad.

3. You think you embarassed the Mets?
You just earned a split on the road against a AAA ball club.

Loser!!!

12. I notice you have no comment
on the David Wright remarks. I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering he completely contradicts your foolish claims that Matt hit Wright on purpose.

"He said, 'I understand it was an accident,' " Cain said.

Now that you've had a few days to fully digest the incident, and heard Wright's take on things, I trust you'll be apologizing for your outrageous attacks upon the character of Matt Cain.

14. That's David Wright's style
See what happens next season when Cain comes back to NY to pitch.

David actually did say that Cain meant to hit him but not in the head. Cain has already plunked Wright once before and Wright is 8-18 against him. That's a .444 average.

15. You're quite literally full of it
Cain had Wright in an 0-2 hole, with a runner on first and nobody out in a tie game...on that basis alone, only an idiot would claim he hit Wright intentionally.

Why don't you indulge me and provide the exact quote where "David actually did say that Cain meant to hit him"

7. 12 Mets are on the Disabled List at present...
The Mets have I believe 7 Opening-Day roster players on the DL:
Beltran
Cora
Delgado
Maine
Putz
Reyes
Wright

And 4 mid-season replacements on the DL:
F. Martinez
R. Martinez
Niese
Nieve

Plus Billy Wagner, who started the season on the DL.

13. Upton is a moron
unable to accept the fact that the Giants were totally embarassed by a AAA Mets team this weak.
